Are you in heaven?

Your eyes open, blinking at the white ceiling in confusion. "Where am I?" You manage to croak out.

"Y/n?" A soft, yet frantic voice calls from your bedside. The person stands up and the face of your mate comes into view. He looks like he hasn't slept for days, his hair tousled and dark circles under his eyes. But as he looks down at you, his expression melts into a soft smile. "I'm right here, honey." He coos reassuringly. "You're in the hospital, do you remember what happened?"

You shake your head. "Not really. The last thing I remember is seeing the Rogue King."

"That's good, so you didn't lose much of your memory." He grabs your hand, caressing it gently. "I was afraid that you wouldn't remember me, or your family, or the twins, or.."

"How long have I been here?" You ask curiously, since it seems like he has been waiting for you to wake up for a while.

"You've been in a coma for three days." He replies solemnly. "You lost a lot of blood."

At the mention of the word blood, a few memories flood back into your brain. Like just how much pain you were in, laying in the dirt. And how Jimin refused to leave your side as you bled out.

When you don't reply, too lost in your thoughts, Jimin drops your hand. "I'll go get the doctor, don't move too much." He leaves the room, closing the door behind him.

Despite your mate's warning, you try to sit up. You're immediately met with a sharp pain in your back, making you wince. Maybe you should've listened to him after all.

You look around at the stark white walls that you've grown to resent. Every visit to the hospital, with the exception of Sawyer's birth and the appointment with Dr. Jeon, is paired with tragic memories that have impacted your life forever.

Unfortunately, you'll have to come back many more times if you want to give birth to healthy babies.

There's a light knock on the door before it opens, in walking Jimin, Dr. Kim and Dr. Jeon. "Here, I brought you some water." Jimin returns to your bedside, handing you a cup. You gulp the whole thing down, not realizing how thirsty you were until now.

"Nice to see you again, Alpha." Dr. Kim smiles politely at you. "It's unfortunate that it has to be under these circumstances."

"Likewise." You nod towards the two doctors. You're slightly confused as to why Dr. Jeon is here, but you decide to hold your tongue for now. "So what's the prognosis?" You've been through this before, you just want to get your discharge papers so you can go home and rest.

"The injuries you sustained to your back were potentially life threatening, but you managed to get here just in time. And although you woke up from the coma, we still need to monitor your vitals for 48 hours to make sure you stay stable."

You nod, holding in a sigh. Great, you're stuck here for an extra two days. How could this get any worse?

Dr. Jeon clears his throat, stepping forward. "Alpha, Luna, I ran some tests and I have some unfortunate news." The grim look on his face makes your stomach twist with fear.

You and Jimin glance at each other before turning your attention back to the doctor. "Because of the trauma you suffered to your stomach, you lost one of the babies."

When you hear those words, it feels like you've been stabbed in the chest. Actually, you think that would be less painful than this news.

Your child is gone, all because you did exactly what the doctor warned you not to do.

You don't respond. You don't even know what to say. So instead, you stare blankly at the wall as grief and guilt washes over you. "I'm sorry for your loss." You register the voice of Dr. Jeon, now mere background noise as your thoughts take over.

Jimin's hand finds yours, gripping it tightly.

Hearing him sniffling next to you, your normal response would be to pull him into your arms. To hold him tight and tell him that everything is going to be okay. But right now, you can't even bring yourself to do that. Not when you're barely holding yourself together.

"We'll give you two some time." Dr. Kim says softly, nodding his head towards Mr. Jeon. The two of them walk out, the door clicking closed behind them.

The room is silent as the two of you process the information. Tears trailing down your cheeks, you find yourself running a hand over your small baby bump. You can't believe that one of your precious angels is gone, just like that.

"Hey." A soft voice calls, opening the door. It's Helena, Yoongi behind her with Sawyer in his arms. "How are you fee-"

She pauses when she notices the heaviness in the room, as well as the somber expressions. "What's wrong?"

"We lost one of the babies." You respond, your voice sounding unfamiliar to your own ears. It sounds cold, emotionless.

"Oh my god.." She mumbles.

"I'm so sorry." Says Yoongi.

"Do you..do you want us to leave?" Helena suggests timidly. "We can come back another time."

You nod and they exit the room without another word. Then it's back to deafening quietness.

"It hurts." Jimin finally breaks his silence after a few moments, his voice raspy from crying. You look at him, his eyes red and glistening with tears. "But I think that we should look on the bright side. Yes, we lost one of our babies. But we still have a beautiful, healthy baby that we'll get to meet soon."

He smiles softly, making a small grin form on your lips as well.

Looking on the bright side.

That might be the only thing that will help you get through this.
