There's a swift knock at your door.
You're working in your office, not even through a quarter of your stack of paperwork when you hear the sound. It's not your mate, so you're guessing it's Yoongi.
"Come in." You murmur, your focus still mainly on the papers in front of you.
When the door opens, you're surprised to see a bright smile on Yoongi's face. It's a rare occasion for him to be beaming like this so you put your pen down, giving him your full attention. "What's up?"
"I have good news."
"Clearly." You grin. "What is it?"
"Well first of all, we got a letter from the Council this morning. The poll results for the Blood Moon pack are starting to come in and it seems like a close tie between a male and a female."
Your eyes widen. This is huge news. It's one thing for a female to inherit the Alpha title but it's another for them to win it. In fact, it's unheard of. If she wins, she will make history in the werewolf community. "That's amazing! I hope she wins, it would be nice to have another female Alpha at the Council meetings."
"I hope so too. They'll vote again next week and whoever wins will become Alpha." He grins. "Now, I have even bigger news."
"Go on.."
"Helena is pregnant."
"Oh my god, congratulations!" You cheer, jumping up and running into Yoongi's arms. "When did you find out?"
He pulls away from your embrace to scratch the back of his neck sheepishly. "This morning. She wanted to be the one to tell you but I was too excited.."
"It's okay, I'll pretend to be surprised." You wink, making him chuckle. "You're going to be a great father, Yoongi. I just know it."
"Thank you." He beams. "Anyways, I should get back to Helena. Her cravings and mood swings are starting up already."
"Good luck!" You chuckle as he exits your office. There's going to be a baby around the house soon! How exciting is that?
You hum to yourself, in a good mood as you continue to work. Then a soft knock interrupts you. "You know you don't have to knock anymore, right?" You call out to him with a chuckle. "I already know it's you."
Jimin comes in, rolling his eyes playfully as he approaches you. "Well, I'm sorry for wanting to give my mate some privacy." He huffs, but you can tell he's teasing.
He sits in your lap, as always, and you gently begin to play with his hair. "You need to invest in a bigger chair."
You chuckle. "If I did, you would probably never leave." He scoffs, but doesn't answer you so you know you're right.
"Is it just me or are you extra happy today?" He smiles, effectively changing the subject.
"Well, Yoongi told me some good news earlier."
"What is it?"
"Helena's pregnant!"
"I know." He grins. "She told me while you and Yoongi were at the Council meeting."
You gasp, swatting his thigh gently. "And you didn't tell me?"
He raises his hands up in surrender. "She swore me to secrecy. She hadn't even told Yoongi yet at that point."
"How come she told you first and not Yoongi?" You raise an eyebrow.
He shrugs, pulling your hand that isn't in his hair into his lap so he can play with your fingers. "She probably was trying to find the right time but there was so much going on."
"Fair enough." You shrug. "Oh, speaking of Council meetings...there might be a new female Alpha soon. I hope so, anyway."
"Really?" Jimin's eyes widen. He knows how much of a big deal this is for you, how badly you want to see more female empowerment in the werewolf community.
You nod. "A poll for the new Alpha of the Blood Moon pack is tied between a man and a woman. They're doing the tie breaker next week."
"That's amazing. There needs to be more badass female Alphas out there." Jimin grins.
"Am I a badass female Alpha?" You pout, blinking at him.
"Better yet, you're my badass female Alpha." He presses a soft kiss to your lips.
