"What flavor did you get this time?"
Jimin asks, eyeing your ice cream cone.
"Coconut, why?" He doesn't answer, simply leaning over you and licking your ice cream.
"Hey!" You laugh, scooting away from him on the bench. The two of you are sitting on a bench in the newly built park, enjoying some ice cream and the nice weather. "Is it better than the mango, at least?" You tease him, remembering the first time you took him out for ice cream.
He nods, licking his lips. "Definitely."
You're about to ask him for a taste of his ice cream when you notice a little girl in the corner of your eye, running towards the two of you.
She stops in front of where both of you are sitting on the park bench. "Hi!" She greets you excitedly. She's practically bouncing in place with energy, her pigtails swinging back and forth. She looks to be around six or seven years old.
"Hi, what's your name?" Jimin smiles warmly at the child.
"I'm Vanessa!" She grins. A woman you assume is her mother comes running after her, her eyes widening when she sees the two of you. She bows respectfully before gently trying to pull her child away. However, the little girl doesn't budge.
"How come you're the Luna and she's the Alpha?" The child asks with wide eyes, tilting her head in confusion. "It's supposed to be the other way around."
Her mother gasps. "Vanessa!" She grabs the child's wrist, turning to look at you and Jimin. She seems very embarrassed. "I am so sorry."
"It's alright." Jimin chuckles softly. You can tell the child didn't mean to be rude, she's just curious and genuinely confused.
Then Jimin turns to the little girl. "That's a good question, Vanessa. And the answer is very simple." His voice is gentle and the girl listens to him intently. "Anything is possible. A girl can do anything a boy can do. Just because it's rare, doesn't mean that it can't happen."
"So I can be Alpha one day?" Her eyes shine brightly, filled with hope.
Jimin glances at you with a raised eyebrow and you shrug. "Maybe?" He answers.
Vanessa seems to take that as a yes, despite the hesitant tone in Jimin's voice. "Yay!" She leaps into his arms and Jimin freezes for a moment, startled. But then he hugs her back. "You're the best Luna ever."
Jimin's expression softens at that and you can see it made him really happy.
Then she pulls away, waving to the two of you as she walks off with her mother. The woman holds her hand tightly this time, to make sure that she doesn't run off and cause any more mischief.
"You handled that really well, I'm surprised." You give Jimin an impressed look.
He shrugs, smiling sheepishly. "What can I say? Children love me."
