Chapter 14

I Got A Real Big Heart That I'm Willing To Hide

Sadie's POV:

I've been laying on my bed for about 15 minutes, staring at the ceiling and glancing at the door every now and again hoping for someone to walk in and cure my boredom. I'm not sure where Finn went or what he did. I'm kind of. Worried. I shouldn't be because he probably just asked Caleb why he was her. That's it, right? I roll onto my side, my back to the door. My eyes start to flutter close. I quickly open my eyes as I hear the noise of my door opening. I see a boy, a small-ish one walk in.

"Noah!" I say with a smile.

My god I've missed him.

"Hey Sade's!" He runs over hugging me.

He pulls out of the embrace, still holding onto my shoulders. He looks down at my arm, then back to my face. Water starts forming at the bridges of his eyes. I take my non- wounded hand, wiping away a ingle tear drop that fell out of his eye.

"I'm okay babe." I say softly, smiling.

"I love you; you know that?" He croaks.

"And I love you."

He turns around, grabbing the chair Finn was previously on, pulling it next to my bed.

"W- where's Finn?" I nervously stutter.

"Am I not good enough for you?" He says sarcastically, laughing.

I laugh back at his response but, still waiting for an answer.

He looks as me with a "shit happened" look. My heart picks up pace as I wonder what happened and where he is. I know it would've been something with Caleb. 100% but, I just want to know what happened.

"Well..." Noah begins.

He takes a deep breath before looking at me again.

"So, Finn walks into the waiting room and um-"

"Him and Caleb had a fight, didn't they?" I say in quite a 'plain' tone, staring at the wall in front me.

"Well, yeah." Noah says to me.

I'm not really shocked in all honesty, Finn hates Caleb and Caleb hates Finn it's just how their relationship works.

"What about?" I turn facing Noah, tilting my head.

"You."

I feel butterflies in my stomach. I don't know why.

'OMG Sadie Finn fought Caleb for you!" I mentally squeal in excitement.

I quickly realised that's what I was thinking and swipe my excitement away.

"Shit." I whisper.

Noah giggles at himself.

"What's so funny huh?" I smirk.

"Sade's, are you blind?!" He asks me.

"What do you mean by that Schnapp?" I say, confused.

"Finn is obviously still in love with you! You don't fight your ex's boyfriend just out of being 'friendly!" He says he makes quotation marks with his fingers.

"Finn. In love, with me?" That made me feel a 'warm' feeling.

"Noah your being dramatic," I say rolling my eyes, laying back onto my bed.

"Sadieeee!" Noah moans in annoyance.

"Noah, me and Finn are just friends who care about each other"

"A lot Sadie, Friends who care a lot."

"Sadie 'just friends' don't do what Finn did." Noah looks at me in the eyes.

"He has a good point Sade's..."

Nope. No. Finn and I are friends. Friends only.

I turn my head away from Noah, as he does too.

"S- so how's Caleb?" I stutter, staring at my ceiling.

I don't really know why I'm asking about Caleb, it just kind of. Blurted out.

"Fuck knows, he just fucked off with Lilia after Finn and him had their little scrap." Noah scoffs.

"L- Lilia?"

"Yes Sadie, Lilia." He says stern.

"Oh, okay."

Why do I think Caleb and I are still together? I mean, in a way he never broke up with me, he just cheated. So, does that mean we're still together or not?

"Do you know why he was here?" I question, rolling onto my side to face Noah.

"I would say for you but," He says, looking at my arm.

"I wouldn't think he cares a crazy amount."

I nervously gulp, rolling back over.

"He hits me, you know." I blurt out, again.

"I know."

My heart stops.

"How the fuck does he know?"

"Finn told me after the fight." Noah adds.

"Oh."

"It's nothing serious though, he just has his momen-"

"Nope. You don't hit your girlfriend because you have a little 'moment' Sade's."

"Well Sadie, both Noah and Finn know it's not good, why aren't you believing them?"

I sigh.

"I guess."

It goes silent for a moment, thoughts running through my head. Mostly about Fin- Caleb.

Not Finn. I don't think about him. In that way.

"Did he ask about me?" I mumble.

"Finn?"

"No, Caleb."

I hear Noah huff in annoyance.
"Sadie, Caleb doesn't care about you! He's done with you why can't you see that!" Noah snaps.

I listen in shock. Tears starting to come into my eyes. I still stare at the ceiling as I hear Noah sigh.

"Sadie I'm sorr-"

"Don't be." I say, flat.

"I shouldn't have said that though." He puts his head into his hands.

I roll over, onto my side. I grab and hold his hand as he lifts his head.

"I probably needed to hear that." I lightly giggle through my tears.

He smiles sympathetically back at me.

"You deserve so much better than him Sadie." He says softly.

"Someone like Finn?"
