All My Shoes Are Filled With Dirt
Sadie's POV:
I see Finn's eyes open as he gives me a blank look. I look down at the boy, my heart racing. I'm not sure why, he's only looking at me. Nothing special. I see Finn trying to wriggle into a seated position but fails. He's weak. I forget about my arm and squat down to his level. Face to face. I can tell by the look in his eyes he's sobered up, not a lot. But more sober than what he was. We stare into each other's eyes for what felt like forever. His eyes are like a hazel Milky way, I fall into them. The specks of green and brown around his dilated pupil filling up my thoughts.
"Why are you here?" He snaps me out of my haze.
"Why Finn?" I demand.
I'm so. Mad at him for this. I shouldn't be though, it's not up to me to tell him what to and what not to do with himself. He's not mine, anymore.
"You wish he was though."
No, I don't. No.
"Sadie I'm sorry but I just-"
"You just what Finn?!" I snap.
I see Millie's eyes widen as I look up at her. She looks down mouthing 'go easy on him', before leaving the bathroom.
Finn must've gotten into a seated position whilst I wasn't looking at him.
"I- I don't know. I don't know!" He says distressed, gripping his hair in his fingers.
I stand up and grip the sink in anger.
"Ugh Sadie, chill the fuck out won't you!"
I can't.
Finn uses his surroundings to help him stand up, he stumbles a couple times, but he got there in the end. He stands next to me, leaning his weight on the bathroom bench.
"Sadie I'm sorry, I am." He says in a calm tone.
"You could've done anything else..." I mumble, flopping my head down and looking into the rusted sink.
"Why this?" I croak.
Finn goes quiet, he has nothing else to say. Ugh God I wish he just didn't do this. Anything else but this would've been fine. I feel tears rolling down my eyes as sobs escape my mouth.
"Sadie i-" Finn tries to wrap his arms around me.
"Get off me!" I hit his arms away.
He looks at me in shock, his arms dropping back to his sides. I nudge past him to get to the door but.
Finn's POV:
"What the fuck happened to her arm?" Confusion fills my thoughts as I see the plaster on her arm half on and half dangling there, stained with her blood.
I quickly jump in front of the door, locking it.
"Can you fucken move!" She sternly demands.
"Sadie your arm!" I snap back.
"Ugh not this again." She mumbles rolling her eyes.
She takes a deep breath, looking into my eyes. She plasters on a fake, cheery smile.
"It's fine!" She says sarcastically.
"Now can I go?" She asks, nodding towards the door.
"No Sadie, your arms not 'fine' now let me help." I say, signalling her to sit back on the bench.
"No!" She yells.
"It wasn't an option now go, sit." I say sternly.
"Geez Finn that was a BIT harsh don't you think?" Woops.
