Call Me Lover

Finn's POV:

"Go to my room, I'll be there in just 2 seconds." I say softly to Sadie, squeezing her shoulder.

She nods, turning around and making her way down the hall. I spin on my heels, making my way into the kitchen where dad and nick were.

"This is going to be interesting Finn."

"So, what was that about?" Nick asks bluntly, sticking his fork into the piece of chicken on his plate.

"Well um, Sadie might need to stay a while..." I mumble, avoiding eye contact and looking at my feet.

"Finn I'm not having that bitch- "

"She's not a bitch, Nick, now shut the fuck up!" I snap.

"Woah boys, chill out!" My dad speaks up.

Nick just rolls his eyes and goes back to eating.

"Anyways," I scoff.

"Yeah somethings, um. Happened so she needs somewhere to stay for, a bit." I say, making my way to the

"Somethings ALWAYS happening with that red-headed witch!" Nick huffs.

"Oh, can you fuck off!" I shout, getting the jug of water out the fridge.

Nick has this big 'issue' with Sadie because, she has a very complicated life. To say the least. And our family were the ones who, you know, gave her a home and stuff. And Nick feels like her breaking up with me after everything we did for her was wrong but.

He doesn't know the full story.

"Nick, cut it out won't you." My dad says with a stern tone.

I walk over to the cupboard and grab 2 glasses, filling them both up with cold water.

"Yes, she can stay Finn,"

"Thank you heaps!"

"But! She has to be the one who tells me what's going on, when she's ready of course." Eric says.

I simply nod, walking back into my room.

I can smell a faint cigarette smell as I enter my room.

"Fuck sake." I whisper to myself.

I open my door and see Sadie sat up on my window ledge, puffing out smoke from between her lips.

"Sadie where did you even get that from!" I place the glasses on my desk, walking over and snatching it out of her fingers.

"Hey!" She whines.

I walk into my bathroom, flushing the cig down the toilet.

"Why would you do that?" She says, as she stands in the door frame of my bathroom.

I storm past her, ignoring her.

"Finn..."

"Sadie, I hate it when you do that!"

"Well then why was there a pack in your fucking draw!?"

"Shit."

We stand in silence, frustration filling the air around us.

"W- why were you going through my draws?" I say throwing my arms up in the air.

"I was looking for pyjamas actually." She says, the tone of her voice is stripped from all happiness.

It goes silent again. We're both avoiding eye contact.

"W- why don't you want me smoking, yet your allowed too?" Sadie asks.

"Because Sadie! I don't want you ruining your life!" I yell, causing her to flinch.

"But your letting yourself ruin your own life!?" Sadie snaps back.

She storms over to me.

"Stop doing this Finn." She mumbles.

Our bodies only centimetres apart.

"Stop what?" I ask.

"Trying to save me." She whispers, dropping her head and walking over my desk.

"Ouch."

"What do you mean?" I watch her pick up the glass of water, taking a delicate sip.

"I mean, you don't love me. You don't need to keep helping me in every situation I get myself into." She says, very flat.

"But I do love you." I whisper.

"Hm?" She lifts her head.

"N- nothing I just- nothing." I freak out.

"Let's hope she didn't hear that fucking idiot!"

She shuffles over to my bed, pulling the covers over her body.

"Aren't you coming?" She mumbles.

"Wait, what?"

"Earth to Finn..." She lightly chuckles.

"O- oh yes let me just. Get changed." I stutter, grabbing some random clothes on my floor and going into my bathroom.

Sadie's POV:

Why did I yell at Finn like that? I literally don't know what had gotten into me. Yes, he doesn't love me. But I lov- I like him. As a friend. Maybe it's just the stress off my mum going missing or dad being back in town. I don't know.

I feel my eyes slowly start to close, I'm so tired. Mentally and physically. I start drifting off to sleep but Finn wakes me up. I roll over, facing the young boy who seems like he's about to sleep on his desk chair.

"What are you doing?" I say whilst yawning.

"S- sleeping?" He questions.

I pat the free space next to me, hoping he catches the hint.

"Are you sure? I can sleep on the chair you kno-"

"Oh, don't be silly!" I giggle.

"Come."

He shuffles over, climbing into the bed. Face to face. Our nose basically touching.

"I'm sorry about earlier." I whisper to him.

The street-light shines through his window, shining onto his beautiful hazel eyes.

"It's okay." He whispers, smiling.

Our eyes meeting as we lay in silence. I find myself looking down at his lips.

"You shouldn't do this Sadie."

"But I miss it."

"But you shouldn't..."

I roll over onto my back, avoiding whatever was about to happen. I wriggle my way closer to him, laying my head on his chest. It's nice.

I want him. But I know I can't have him.
