Every Time I'm Out, I Want To Go Home

Sadie POV;

It's around 5pm now, Finn and I have just been sat on his bed. Not really talking much but, it was comfortable silence at the most. I lay, sprawled out on my back, staring at the glow in the dark stars he's had on his roof since the 3rd grade.

"What do you want for dinner?" He asks.

I sit back up, leaning my body weight on my arms.

"I'm not overly hungry." I simply remark.

"When did you last eat Sade's?" He tilts his head in curiosity.

"Sadie it's been almost 2 days now..."

"Um like, 2 days ish." I avoid eye contact.

"Geez Sadie!" He chuckles.

"Hey, it's not that bad!" I say, trying to make the situation less of a big deal.

Finn stands up, shuffling over to me and putting his hand out, signalling to help me up. I roll my eyes, grabbing a hold of his hand as he helps to lift me to my feet. We make his way to his door.

"Wait!" I blurt out.

"Mm?" He hums, turning his back to his door.

"A- are you sober enough to drive?" I question him nervously.

I didn't want him to get agitated but like, I don't want to put myself and him in danger if he's not up to drive.

"Sadie, it's been like 6 hours or some shit. I'm okay!" He says, in a comforting tone.

I simply nod my head as he turns around opening his door. we both walk out, and I softly close the door behind me. I follow closely behind him as we walk down the hall and into his living area. He walks over to the trinket tray, placed on the corner of the bench. He grabs his keys and walks towards me.

"I'll just text dad if he wonders where we are." He smiles.

We make it to his car, in the front yard. I hear the click of the car unlocking, opening the passenger door and climbing in.

"His seats are nice."

"So," Finn starts.

"Where are we going to eat?" he clicks the keys and the engine starts.

Before I could even say anything, the volume blares out the weird indie music, as i'd call it, he listens too.

"S- shit sorry." He nervously stutters and he turns the volume down.

I quietly giggle to myself at how awkward he got about his music being so loud.

"As I was saying," I chuckle.

Finn puts his arm on the head of my chair.

"Sadie why the fuck do you have butterflies?"

That was really hot.

Finn reverses out of his driveway, making his way down the street.

"Can we get Ta-"

"Sadie are you STILL obsessed with Taco Bell?" He groans.

"Mm how'd you know?" I wink at him, followed by a small smirk.

"Ugh fine!" He gives me a sour look, adding a small smile after.

We start driving, the sun just starting to set, creating an orange tint to paint across the sky. I lean my head on the window, zoning out and staring at the streets we drive pass.
