Carly's POV

I get out of Calum's car and slowly make my way up to Michael's house. I walk up the little steps and onto the front porch. I lightly knock on the door and it soon open revealing Micheal's mom.

"Carly honey, come in." She says with a smile. "It's been a while since we last saw you. Is everything okay?"

"No-yeah I'm good. How's Michael doing?"

"He's doing really well. We've been showing pictures of you two and the videos he has saved on his phone."

"Does he remember?" I ask. Her faces turns sad as she shakes her head. I can feel tears starting to form in my eyes, but I promised myself I wasn't going to cry. "Where is he?" I ask.

"He's up in his room most likely playing a video game. You can see him if you'd like."

"Thank you Karen." She smiles at me and I head up the stairs. I go to his bedroom door and see that the door is sightly open. I peek into his room and see him sitting on his bed playing a video game, just like his mom expected him to be. I see his dyed brown hair and his black cast that's on his leg. I can't help but think about the crash. I take a deep breath and knock on the framing of the door.

"Come in." He says, his voice shattering my heart. I walk in and he takes a double take and pauses his game. "C-can I help you?" He asks. I walk in further in and shut the door behind me. "I think you should leave that open." He says.

"It's okay, your mom knows who I am."

"I know, she keeps showing me pictures of you. She keeps telling me that you were my girlfriend, but I'm not sure if I believe her." I feel my eyes water.

"I-I shouldn't h-have come here. I'm s-sorry." I go to leave, but he stops me.

"We can talk if you want." I face him, my cheeks now burning with tears.

"How can you not remember me?" I ask.

"I-I don't know I-"

"Look at my hair, it's the same color as yours. We dyed it together in your bathroom and your mom almost killed us because we made such a huge mess. I'm the girl on your lock screen and you have pictures saved in your phone from trips and other things we've done. I bought you the fricking game you're playing for your birthday. I have to be in there somewhere!" My tears are falling a lot faster now, but nothing changes.

"I'm sorry, if I could remember you, I would. You sound like an amazing girl that any guy would be lucky to have."

"I don't want just any guy, I want you."

"I don't know you, so how do you expect me to be with you?"

"You can get to know me. Anything you want to know, I'll tell you."

"Okay, why are you here?"

"I wanted to see you. I haven't seen you since the accident."

"What do you mean?"

"You were in the car with me and I-"

"Your the girl who crashed the car? My mom told me I did that."

"It was me."

"I think I know all I need to know."

"But-"

"You can go now."

"Michael I-"

"I said go." I don't know what it's like to get shot, but I know that has to feel better than this. I quickly walk out of his room and down the stairs.

"How did it-" I brush past his mom and walk out of the house. I shut the door and start crying really hard.

"Carly, what happened?" I hear Calum, but I can't speak. He pulls me into a hug and I practically fall into his arms. He strokes my hair and I just cry. My whole world feels like it's crashing down and I'm not enough to hold it up. I hear the door open and then I feel someone start rubbing my back.

"You'll come back to him. He was so in love with you honey, I know you will." I know it's crazy to say, but I dreamed of a life with him. I dreamed of spending every waking moment with him and feeling nothing but love for him. I dreamed of having kids with him and seeing them grow up right in front of our eyes. I can't imagine doing that with anyone else but him, not now, not ever.
