WHEN EVE CAME HOME THAT NIGHT, her roommate Vanessa was nowhere to be found. It wasn't hard to look around their sneaky big apartment nestled near Central Park. She checked Vanessa's room, the bathroom, her own room, and circled back to the living room and kitchen and found no trace of the girl. Eve pursed her lips and went about her night normally, knowing that her friend would come home until at least three a.m.

She made dinner, changed into her pajamas, then watched Buzzfeed Unsolved until her phone rang at eight. "Hello?"

"Hey, E!" Vanessa's voice chirped. "I just wanted to check in, sorry I didn't leave a note. I forgot I had a date tonight."

"A date?" Eve sat up and drank some port. "How's it going?"

"Really good, I just had to leave him for a minute and go to the bathroom. I feel so bad I made plans with him on tinder a few nights ago when I was wasted and forgot until this morning when I checked."

"Lord, Vanessa." She rolled her eyes. "Well, keep me updated or call me if shit hits the fan. I'm gonna try and go to bed early tonight."

"Okay, love you!"

"Love you too!" Eve sighed and hung up, resuming her binging until eleven, when she decided to get up and go to bed.

The girl walked into her room, turned on the light, and looked at herself in the mirror across from her. She looked exhausted. Eve walked up to her mirror and examined herself closely with squinted eyes, realizing she didn't look completely normal. Maybe I've grown into my body. She thought, running her hands down her juul-shaped body, more accentuated with her small boobs and ass that she complained about to Vanessa. Eve realized the more she thought about high school, and Timmy, the more she thought about how much she had changed. She realized she really had grown into her body, her face was more proportional and her acne was mostly gone- in place of acne she got a light dusting of freckles covering her face, arms, and chest. Her red hair had even matured, even though it was now shoulder length and wavy.

"God, would he even recognize me?" She whispered, thinking back to how she used to look. She had straight red hair then that was long and her face used to be covered with acne. "Maybe he'd only recognize me if I quoted Shakespeare." She remembered the english class days vividly, then they would walk together to US history and complain about their old crotchety teachers.

Maybe I just miss the kid. Maybe that's why I'm jealous of his success.

Eve sighed, raking fingers through her hair, then checked the date. December 8th, 2017. She knew from Twitter and other sleuths that the movie was going to be showed at a film festival the next month, so if she was smart, she would contact him now before his inevitable rise to fame. She realized the more she saw his face the past few weeks after watching Call Me By Your Name the more she missed him- even if he had a tendency to be a prick in high school- he also had a lovable, sweet side that she missed more than she realized.

She opened Instagram and searched up tchalamet, seeing that he was unverified gave her a splinter of hope and then saw the nearly 200k followers he already amassed. Eve sucked in a breath as she pressed follow, then message.

She clenched her teeth and hit send, then threw her phone across the room in embarrassment.
