Chapter 16: Marry Me Ms. Perfect!

Everyone was enjoying the party. The karaoke system was set up and Ian hovered around it like a small kid. Even though they all belonged to a mafia gang and dealt with guns and murders on a daily basis, they were the best entertainers and extremely talented. Each of them was interested in one or the other musical instrument. Music was there in their genes. And thus, every party they had hosted till now always had karaoke program. All of them would sing, play music and dance around. They didn't need clubs or discos for their parties; it was always in a hall where they spent hours and hours celebrating. And, tonight was no exception.

James played Guitar and sang one of Cynthia's favourite songs leaving her smiling from ear to ear. Ian was a master in playing mouth organ. Rosaline often dance around him while he would play it. It had been that way since their childhood. As far as Alexander was concerned, even though he was a tough and a serious man, he did love music and piano was his favourite musical instrument. He did play piano for Cynthia on their special days or when she was feeling low. Kevin, the master mind in billiards was also a piano player. He played a song of Alexander's interest today. Huge applause was given to their performances.

Upon insistence Jeremy, Sierra's father, also sang a song which he had written for his wife during their college days. It brought tears in Sierra's eyes thinking how her father still loved her mother. Even though she left them years back, he didn't remarry and gave his full attention to Sierra. He took care of Sierra like a crystal doll. She always wished to have a lover who loved her so crazily like her father loved her mother. And for some unknown reason, every time she looked at Xander or a simple thought of him made her believe that this void will soon disappear. And before the tears in her eyes could cross the boundary of her beautiful doe eyes, Cynthia held her arms and started to rub them in a soothing way looking at her with a small smile on her face. She nodded her head in no indicating Sierra not to cry to which Sierra simply replied back with an understanding smile thanking her. She wiped those pools before they could become evident to anyone else.

And before karaoke program could proceed further, the lights went off leaving the entire hall in darkness. This was unusual. Cynthia held both Sierra's and Rosaline's hands and made them go behind her as a protective mother. Living with Alexander and being in the Mafia family all these years have taught her to be prepared for anything and at anytime. She had learnt how to handle guns and throw daggers after getting married to Alexander for safety reasons. He was her personal trainer so she obviously turned out to a good student. The ladies gasped a little when a voice suddenly boomed inside the hall.

For me; a bright spot light was shown on a person who was sitting in the karaoke section.

Darling just dive right in and follow my lead; the light was focused on his feet. His crisp black shoes were shining brightly.

Well I found a girl... His voice again boomed in.

Beautiful and Sweet; the spot light started moving tracing his long legs and landed on his chest.

I never knew you were the; someone waiting for me; the spot light now covered his hands which held the guitar.

'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love; he started playing guitar as sang along while the spot light covered his entire body landing on his face.

Xander sat there playing his guitar and singing the most romantic song in front of everyone for the girl in black. His eyes were closed and a small smile was playing on his lips thinking about her.
