Snowflakes rained down, increasing the nearing festive atmosphere. Humming a merry beat as he drove down the road, today Aziel had an idea to find out more about his secret Santa.
Frosted grass crunched under his feet as he stepped out of his car. A sudden burst of winter chill crept along his cheeks making them turn a shade of pale pink. Shivering a little bit he shoved his hands in his jacket and with quick steps, moved ahead.
"Aziel! It is so good to see you!" A chirpy female voice exclaimed. Latching her arms along his she fell in step next to him. Gazing at the small redhead with curiosity next to zero, he slowly tried to retrieve his arm.
"Yeah! Nice," he grunted in response.
Free from her grip, he resumed his fast pace. Jason, as usual, was waiting for him at his locker. Giving him a one-sided hug, he quickly opened his locker.
The gift inside took his breath away.
Inside was a beautiful snowglobe. A beautiful pinecone snowglobe. Filled with some heavy liquid as bits of white glitter the contents were trapped in a mason jar. It was so beautiful and breathtaking.
As he took it in his hands and shaking it a bit, he came across the small winter scene inside the jar. Like snow on treetop, the glitter shower in the way similar to snow outside.
A dimpled smile pulled across his old rose-colored lips. His fingers moved carefully along the jar and his eyes were entranced with its contents.
A sudden squeal on his side gained his attention. With eyes, wide looked at Serene as her eyes were fixed on the orb. Feeling a sudden wave of protectiveness wash over him, he moved it away from her reach.
"Oh my god! It is so pretty!" she screeched "Can I have it? Please, Aziel?"
Burning under her under his glare, he passed the silent message of how could she demand such think. "No." he let out in curt words.
Carefully placing it back in his locker, he kept the jar safe for later pick up. He slung an arm across Jason's shoulders as with the biggest steps possible he increased distance between him and Serene.
"By the snow globe is so cool. Seems like somebody made it themselves." Jason murmured as they settled in their homeroom seats.
Nodding in agreement Aziel silently dismissed the topic.
Just as bell of dispersal rung he leaped from his seat. With fast and long steps, he covered the distance between him and his locker. Almost out of breath he now stood in front of his locker. As he opened the door, the marvel of the snow globe once again enchanted him to bits. With a small barely-there smile, he took the spheroid in his hands. Enjoying the weight of it in his fingers.
He carefully placed it in the most secure pocket of his bag and slung it closer to him. Taking the note out of his pocket, the note which took him 2 periods to perfect, he placed it in his locker. He hoped that his secret Santa might find it there and reply to him.
It was a beautiful evening, as snow decorated the outsides, the beautiful snowglobe decorated the insides of his room. Aziel was deep in thought as he repeated the words written beneath the jar, through his mind.
'Winter whispered a melodious lull,
Summer sighed an enchanting dull,
Autumn howled a story strange,
Spring cried the celebration of change.
I know you hate winters but maybe this will help you learn to love it. :)′
Somewhere far she whispered the same poem, as her brown curls swayed with the wind. They might have been worlds apart, yet with those same words, they felt even more near.
