Aziel started as his mother fussed around the Christmas tree. The tree which was once green and natural was now glowing in colors akin to golden and red. The fake snow decorated along its slopes.
The tree was standing next to the hearth which only came to use near Christmas. While the orange flames lapped around as the tree glowed decorated in lights and ornaments over the snowy white rug.
The Christmas spirit was at an all-time high at his house. His dad was busy in the kitchen and his brother, who was finally home was passed on the couch.
"Aziel, hand me the candy cane." His mom shouted, even though he was standing next to her. Rummaging through the decorations box he handed her the candy cane she was asking for.
A merry Christmas beat was drifting through the house and his father was horribly trying to imitate the singer.
Aziel helped his mother down the stool, she used to reach near the top of the tree and deposited the box near the tree.
The bell rung catching his attention. With quick steps reached the front door. An unfamiliar face greeted him with a smile.
A guy with shining blond hair and blue eyes was someone he was not familiar with. "Aziel?" he asked, his voice husky for his 16yr old frame.
Aziel mindlessly nodded and waited for him to elaborate on his arrival.
"Someone send this for you." the boy said, producing a square box from his pocket.
Aziel's heart gave a painful thud as he stared at the gift. Today he was disappointed when he didn't receive any gift from his Secret Santa, putting the thought away as forgetfulness he tried to ignore the stab of disappointment he felt.
Now with shaking fingers he took the box in his hands and traced the twine tied around it. He raised his head to thank the boy but he was greeted by thin air.
Gasping he moved ahead, uncaring of the chilling winds and tried to find the boy. But like an absurd magic trick, he seemed to disappear into thin air.
Closing the door behind him the quickly unwrapped the gift. From the cardboard box underneath he pulled out a clear ornament with mistletoe delicately placed inside it.
A white note fell out of the box, catching his attention. Picking it up, his eyes scanned the words on the page.
'While your mom is on decoration spree, add this to your over-decorated Christmas tree.
Oh! A Christmas tree is never over decorated.
p.s. Have you ever kissed under a mistletoe? I have :)′
Later in the evening when he and his brother were struggling with gift wrapping, his eyes went to the gift his mysterious person gave him. With a smile on his face once again faced his brother.
