I sighed as I completed the diary for the nth time. Earlier these words were a source of tears for me but now, these were just souvenirs of my parents, I never got to know.
I love you mom and dad and hope you guys are happy and together, wherever you are.
I placed the diary with my dad's name back in the box they left for me and ran my fingers over the things I had kept in store here. Others might say that this was a cheesy story my parents had devised to over-romanticize their love but for me it was true.
The proofs were with me. The mug she gave him with 90% countries colored and chipped at the on the rims, the diary she gave him and every other gift they could preserve for me so that in times like these when I missed their presence, I could look at them.
"Winter! Come on. It's dinner time." Dad shouted.
Quickly wiping my tears, I ran out of the room, hoping that the magic of Christmas happened to me too.
