Chapter 12

When I finished eating my breakfast, everyone but Tobias went home.
"Why didn't you leave?"
He shrugs. "To be honest, I didn't want to go home to him. And I wanted some alone time with you just to hang out and do what you want to do."
I blush at the thought. "We can watch Mean Girls?"
He laughs then comes close to my face. We're only inches apart from our faces colliding together.
"That's all you want to do?"
I blush deeper, dragging him to the couch. He tries to kiss me, but I tease him by dodging it. He leans back, furrows his eyebrows and tries again- Missing a second time.
"Come on Tris, just one kiss?" He says, pouting his lip.
"I will if you put in the movie and make buttery popcorn."
He sticks his tongue out at me. "You're spoiled, but I still love you."
I laugh while continuing to blush. "Love you too, you big baby."
He goes into the kitchen while I put in Mean Girls. I've watched it over a thousand times, and it's still my favorite movie.

When the movie Is beginning to start, I hear a knock at my door. I run up to answer it. When it opens, a talk man in a black suit is standing in my door way.
"Hello." I speak. The mans facial expression showed sorrow.
"Beatrice Prior?" I nod and he continues. "I have some upsetting news for you, why don't you have a seat?"
I walk over to the white leather couch and sit, crossing my legs. The man sits acrossed from me in the matching chair.
"Tris.... I hate to tell you this, but about yesterday at 6:03 AM your parents were both found dead- Murder."

It feels like I can't breathe any more.
And now
It's getting
Harder to
Think.
