For the past week, Tris has been recovering in the hospital. She's been doing much better, due to her blood loss, and I hired a therapist to talk to her about her rape issue. She's told me she feels better now, and cannot wait to be home today with me.
I pull my car in the hospital parking lot. I grab my giant balloon that has Tris's name in bold letters on it, a bouquet of flowers-roses-and a card with all of our friends signatures signed on it. It seemed like to much, but I would give her anything.
About two minutes later, I am at the clerks desk.
"Hello, Tobias Eaton here to see Beatrice Prior. Is she awake?"
The desk lady looks up and smiles at me. She does some typing I her computer before looking up.
"Yup! Usual room, 46, second floor and ten doors down from the right. Just ask a nurse if you need any assistance getting there."
I give her a smile and a brief nod. "Thank you, Mam."
"The pleasure is mine!"
I give her one quick smile before walk to the elevator to the second floor. The elevator music was complete shit like usual, but I managed anyway.
The elevator finally reaches a stop, and I exit my way out. Passing several people and nodding a few 'Hellos' I turn left in front of Tris's door.
I knock quietly, then push open the door. The most beautiful pair of eyes lay upon mine.
"Hey." She mumbles. It sounds as if she had just woken up from a nap. Her dirty blond hair was pulled up into a long ponytail, which reached down to her shoulders. Today she had on a pair of white, cloth shorts and a mint green Tee that has the band cover of Maroon 5 on the front, and the list of their world tours on the back.
"Hey sunshine." I give her a warm smile. "Ready to go?"
She smiles back at me, flashing a wide grin. "Hell yeah, I've been waiting for ages."
I let out a small smirk before handing her the flowers, balloons, and card. She looks confused at first, until I explain.
"For you. The balloons and flowers are from me, and the card is from the whole gang. They've missed you a lot."
She smiles, then pulls me in a huge embrace.
"Thank you, Tobias." I could fear my shirt getting wet with tear stains made by her. I rub my hand in a circling motion on her back, helping her calm down.
"It's all right, Trissy. We'll be home soon and you can cry then."
Tris throws a playful punch at me, then starts heading towards the door. "Let's go before it gets too dark."
I grab her small suitcase which contained all her clothes, bathroom utensils, and other girly things inside, her small jacket, and made my way towards the door. I followed her carefully behind as she strutted towards the giant elevator. Tris presses the DOWN button, and about five seconds later a Completely empty elevator opens up, inviting us inside
After meeting up with the check out lady, and confirming that Tris would be leaving this place, I started up my car, and we started driving. We stopped at the Dauntless Diner, where we shared a giant piece of their fantastic cake.
"This is really good!" Tris takes another huge bite out of it.
I smile, taking myself yet another life. "Yeah, I hope that when I die, they would use this at my funeral."
Tris laughs, then covers her napkin with her mouth to clean off each little crumble left from the cake.
"I would only come to your funeral if there were Dauntless Cake." She says that while giving me a devilish grin.
I give her a returning smile. "As the same goes for you, my little Six."
"I was wondering, where did that Nick name come from, and why are you called Four?"
My thoughts go many years back, as I try to remember the past. "Well, my nickname Four started about in fourth grade, when I moved to this school. On the first day, I was given a sheet to complete, which had things like Name/Birthday/favorite food, extra. Well, I got to question number 7, which asked me to list my fears. And with that, I only have four, giving me my nick name today."
Tris slowly nods as she shoves another large piece of cake in her mouth. "So what about Six, where does that coke from?"
I answer without stuttering. "There's six reasons why I absolutely love you."
She seems taken back a step, as a look of confusion crosses her face. "What are those six traits?"
I give her a weak smile, before reaching across the table to plant a kiss on her head. "That's for me to know, and you to find out."
*TIME SKIP: AT HOME*
Tris had decided to take a quick shower while I prepared dinner. I knew the hospital didn't feed her much, since she was always in therapy, so I decided to make a medium sized dinner.
I lay four burgers on a hot skillet. I start shaking the spices on top, and let them sit. After that, I take a bag of French fries out and lay them on a large tray. I arrange them so they are away from the edges, then set them in he all ready warmed up oven.
Five minutes into cooking, Tris enters the kitchen with a blue towel wrapped around her head, wearing grey sweatpants and a purple tanktop. She smiled when she saw me, and came over to wrap her tiny arms around my waste.
"What's for supper?"
"Burgers with fries, like the queen asked for."
Tris does a curtsy, bowing like a princess. "Why, I'm honored your majesty." She speaks with her faint British accent. I pick her up and twirl her around the air. With each spin, she let's out small giggles.
God, I loved her giggles.
I finally set her down. When I do, she pulls me in for a kiss. I slowly kiss back, making sure to touch each part of her lips.
"I love you." She murmurs through our lips. Without replying, I return the offer by sliding my tongue inside her mouth. I feel her jolt a tiny bit, but then she continues doing the same thing. We stayed in this position for the longest time, I almost forgot about the dinner.
"Tris..." I whisper. "I need to get the burgers before they burn."
She nods, and I back away slowly over to the stove. I put each burger on a plate with a set of buns next to them, and serve them on the table. Next, I pull the fries out of the oven and set them down carefully on top of the stove. I burnt my hand a little in the process, but I don't show it to Tris. I wouldn't want her to worry.
She has enough on her mind, and more to come.
