"Beatrice, what a pleasant surprise." Ms. Matthew's speaks. She slowly gets up, Unwrinkling her navy blue skirt and blue jacket. She gives her blonde bun a tap twice before finally settling a state on me. "Might I ask where you're going? It's only second hour."

I blink, and finally get the urge to stand up and grab my things. "Actually, I was about to go to your office. I was going to sigh out for the day?" I say the last sentence in a question, hoping she wouldn't refuse. She cocks her head to the right a few inches, examining my face.

"Why don't you come to my office?" she says, turning back around, walking towards the office. "Besides, I was going to get you anyway."

I nod, and we walk down the hallway side-by-side. We finally reach the giant red door that had a self portrait of Ms. Matthew's hanging on it. On the bottom, it read 'POWER' In blue bold letters. No one really understands what this me, but then again, no one really cared.

I pull myself a seat and sit down in it. Ms. Matthews sits in her swivel chair, and puts on her black winded framed glasses. "So, why don't you talk about your problems before I get to mine."

I put my hands together and squeeze them tight. When I first moved here, I was told Ms. Matthews wasn't one to mess with. I guess the last kid who dared to even look at her the wrong way hasn't shown up in years.

"Well, things are just tough since the whole, situation, let's say. I just broke up with the love of my life, and I recently got pied in the face. I was just going to go home to-"

"Who pied you?" she asks curiously. I gulp, before answering.

"Peter and Cara. But honestly I was asking for it! It is April Fools-"

"Enough." Was all she had to say before I close my mouth and fall silent. She gets up, smoothing her skirt, and leaves the office.

I examine around her room- White walls with a white marble flooring. in the middle sat her large black desk, Two blue office chairs, and her large blue swivel chair. Around the office were awards and photographs of what looked like her when she was young. I notice one that catches me off guard, and it's a photo of her holding a need filled with a green liquid. Her long white lab coat stopped when the picture frame reached it. Her short, blond hair was now long and reached to her chest, She had on the same glasses that she had before. Next to her, stood a similar looking man, about two inches taller then her with dirty blond hair. He had on the same glasses, same lab coat, but the needle he was holding was pure black.

Who was that man and why were they holding colored needles?

"Making yourself comfortable, I see." Ms. Matthew says, practically centimeters away from my ear. I jump, but quickly brush it off. I look behind her to see a snickering Peter, and an angry looking Cara. Cara elbows Peter in the side, and I see him mumble curse words before giving me the same death glare.

I was doomed.

"Please, everyone take a seat." Ms. Matthews says, taking a seat of her own. I sit in a chair farthest away from Peter. "Now, I understand there was a problem this morning? If I do understand, Beatrice was pied in the face?"

I nod, but then hold up my hands in defense. "I mean, I was asking for it. It's April Fools day and at my old school-"

"Perhaps you aren't acknowledged to out school hand book, Beatrice? Page 74, Rule 106. 'Absolutely no pranking no matter the Holliday,'" she flips me the page where it says, and then starts flipping more pages. "Page 23, Rule 53. 'No food on school premises unless you were granted permission by the council." I look, and there it was again- the exact thing she had just read.

"Can we just get to our punishment, old lady?" Cara finally speaks up. I was shocked that she even had thought about speaking to Ms. Matthews. But that disrespect?

She has my prayers.

"Cara, please." Ms. Matthew says. I can tell she's annoyed just by the tone of her voice. Cara grunts, and then goes back to watching her foot movement.

"Peter, this is your fifth time getting sent to the office for bad behavior. You know what-"

"Yeah, yeah." he cuts her off. "I'll be getting suspended for two weeks, and on my tenth strike I'm expelled. I don't want to be in the stupid school anyway."

Ms. Matthew laughs, making me confused she relaxes her head in her hand. "Then tell your daddy to stop sending money to keep you here." She says, poking him the chest with her other hand. I can see the color wash out of Peters face at that gesture.

"Now, you will both be punished for a two week of kitchen duty. You will also have a Friday in-school suspension and Saturday classes. Got that? Now go, I have business to discuss with Beatrice."

Peter nudges me hard in the ribs with his elbow as he's walking out. Cara 'accidentally' kicks my leg when she trips. She falls on me, but I catch her. Though, I wish I hadn't.

"You'll regret this, new girl." she hisses. Chills get spilled up my spine when she finally walks away. I take a seat back down in the blue chair.

"I'm sure you would rather go home, so I'll let you go. Have a good day, Beatrice."

I get back up, and exchange my hand. "But what about the things you needed to tell me? I have extra time if you still want to talk."

She smiles, escorting me to the door. "Just see me tomorrow after school."

I thank her again, and rush to my car. I put in in gear, And drive home.
