Chapter Four - Beautiful

Wills POV:

Today was it, today was the day I was going to propose to Nico during the campfire. My mind kept wandering to panic, What if he says no? What if he dumps me there?

But what if he says yes? What if he says yes? We've been together for nearly five years now, since the end of the war with Gaea. He was fourteen and I fifteen, now nineteen and twenty. I planned to sing a song to him, he had no idea. I'm sure he thought it was just another karaoke night at Camp Half-Blood.

I walked up to the stage ready to sing Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. I glanced over to where Nico sat, he smiled proudly giving me a thumbs up. I sent him a wink before singing.

Nico was now smiling wider than he was before, he was very happy. He held something in his hand, I wasn't sure what it was. I couldn't make it out in the dark, he clutching it with tears.

Nico is still very happy, he had tears of joy swelling around his eyes. I remember him being so cold, distant and self-conscious of everything when we met. He wouldn't let me hold him up when he was passing out. I can't believe the first thing I said to him was I helped birth a baby satyr and held his hands. I loved everything about him back then, I wanted to heal him from the pain. Which I eventually did, I was the first to make him laugh in a long time he had told me. I had the biggest smile on my face when he told me that, that was when I first kissed him.

I made my way over to Nico grabbing his hands still singing to him. He was a big blushing ball of fluff, he made my heart melt.

As I finished the last word l bent down on my knee. Every one gasped knowing what was going on. The Aphrodite cabin was even surprisingly silent. "Nico Di Angelo. My angel. I've loved you since the day you first came to camp with your sister. I always wanted to talk to you but I never did afraid of being shunned. I'm glad that I got to know you after the war. I love you, Nico. Will you marry me?" he stared at me with tears then his face turned solid. My smile wavered in panic, is he saying no?

"Well I don't know," he said quietly. The campers were groaning and booing.

"I-I understand."

"I would love to Will!!" he yelled and eloped me in a hug.

"Oh, my gods. Nico, you scared me I thought you were gonna say no."

He scoffed. "Of course not. I was just shocked because..." he pulled out the little box he was clutching during the song and knelt down in front of me, it was my turn to be shocked.

"Will Solace. My sunshine. I've loved you since the war, I was so cold and broken you healed my broken heart and gave me yours in the process. I didn't think that I could be able to love again after B- Bianca died. Will, you were the first person to make me laugh and smile since her death. Will you marry me?" Nico said.

"Of course death breath." Nico slipped the ring onto my finger as i slipped one on his. We kissed as if there was nothing else in the world that mattered. There were cheers all around us. I didn't hear half of what was going on. I was too wrapped up with what was going on with my Nico. My fiance.

"I love you, Nico."

"Ti amo anch'io, Will."
