sai was out with kakashi, the two working on a mission together that required both of their skills to work together. currently, they sat comfortably in a tree branch high above their target, silence in the air until kakashi spoke.
"you know," sai looked at him with an expecting look, waiting for him to continue. "you and ( name ) make the best couple i've seen so far." it wasn't uncommon for kakashi to speak his mind, but this time sai wasn't expecting to hear him say that.
his surprised expression turned into a grateful smile. "thank you." was all he said before jumping off the branch, the rest of the mission ready to be put into action.
