There were a few stipulations to your agreement which Nezu laid out in detail during the rest of your meeting with him.

The first was that you would not be taking the entrance exam. Technically you would be considered a "recommended" student, but you would not be going through the same trials they would be doing, either. All of this was because of the second rule the principal laid out for you: you were not allowed to use your quirk.

At first, you had no idea what to think about this plan; it seemed like something could turn sour very quickly. All it would take was for one person to dig up just a little bit of information before they found out that you got into a top hero school with mediocre junior high marks and very little money to your name. Just one person who was curious as to why you had gotten a full ride to UA and everything about you would be out in the open.

"And how, exactly," you had asked, "am I supposed to go through hero training without using my quirk?"

Nezu had explained that in detail as well. You weren't allowed to use your quirk until the incredibly popular televised UA Sports Festival, in which almost all of Japan and a good portion of the rest of the world would be watching you perform to the best of your abilities. This, he said, was where you would make your mark. You would keep everything a secret until you had a captive audience that would be able to see someone using Pokemon for good, to be a hero. And until that day, your teachers would do everything they could to keep your quirk under wraps. Exactly how many teachers knew about your quirk was still a mystery, but despite only having met Nezu that day, you found yourself trusting him immensely.

And apparently he trusted you just as much, because he told you to return to UA the following week for the general entrance exam. Not to take it, no, but to help work it. You weren't sure about the regulations regarding future students helping to proctor other students' exams, but you also didn't think you were really in any position to talk considering all that the principal had done for you already.

That was how you found yourself once again standing in front of the glass building that would soon be your school. It was still daunting, but the air itself felt different due to the sheer number of other people that were there. All dressed in casual or athletic wear, kids your age poured in from the street and lined up out the front door of the school as they checked in to take the entrance exam. You had no idea how many people were there and counting them seemed like an impossible task. Glad that you didn't have to wait to get a name card, you slipped into the building and made your way back to Nezu's office.

You only got to the door when you were stopped by a man you vaguely recognized. He had on a leather jacket and shades and his hair was bright blond. The man likely wore a boatload of hairspray, as his hair seemed to defy gravity. You supressed a chuckle as you imagined a Kakuna sitting atop his head instead; the two seemed virtually interchangeable.

The man was leaning against the wall but sprung up with a flashy grin on his face when you got closer. "Hey little listener!"

When he spoke, you suddenly realized where you knew him from. "Present Mic?"

Present Mic shot finger guns at you. "Righto!"

While you were far from his most dedicated fan, you listened to the pro hero's radio show from time to time. You admired his energetic and positive approach to life and approved of his choice in music. The only thing that threw you off in person was just how loud he was. Maybe it was the acoustics in the hallway, but your ears were literally ringing and he had only said a few words.

"You're with me for a bit!" Present Mic said. "I've got a presentation to give, but the darn projector keeps giving me trouble. Principal Nezu said you were here to help, so I'm officially making you my assistant!"
