16: Your Biggest Fan

The Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall was like something out of a movie. The mall near your apartment was less of a mall and more of an abandoned collection of buildings with the occasional restaurant that was definitely a front for some criminal activity, so being at one like Kiyashi was mind boggling. It was packed with people, all carrying armfuls of shopping bags or eating ice cream from the Dairy Queen, and all the stores bustled with customers who moved from door to door like grazing cattle.

"It's so crowded," Kirishima said, voicing your thoughts. "I hope we're able to find everyone." He held the mall door open for you and gestured for you to walk through. You were followed not only by the redhead, but also Kaminari and Sero, all of whom you'd run into in the train station on your way to meet up with the rest of your class to buy any items you'd need for the upcoming summer training camp.

Sero craned his neck around the main lobby. "Hmm... Oh, hey! I think I see Shoji. Over there." He pointed off in the distance and you peered through the gaps in the crowd. Sure enough, you saw a few faces you recognized. You and the three boys pushed through until you made it over to them; nearly everyone who had planned on coming was already there.

Mina waved when she saw you and then clapped her hands together. "Okay! I think everyone's here. So, let's go shopping in some groups, alright? Make sure you get all the stuff you need on your lists and we'll meet back here in a couple of hours. Let's go!" She grabbed Hagakure and Yaoyorozu by their wrists and dragged them off, leaving the rest of you to split up as you pleased.

"Hey, (L/n), you should come with us," Sero said, gesturing to the boys who you had walked in with. "We came here as a group, so it only makes sense, right?"

You gave him a thumbs up. "Sure, I'm down. Anything to avoid 'Mina's Bikini Bonanza'. She texted all the girls last night that she wanted us to participate, but I'm hoping I can steer clear."

"I think you should go to the bonanza," Kaminari said quickly. "It sounds like a wonderful, one-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you. Plus, I'd totally be down to watch you try on bathing suits."

Kirishima hit him on the back of the head with his quirk activated. "You can't say that kinda stuff to a lady, dude! Totally not manly at all."

The two boys began bickering–although it was really mostly Kaminari whining and Kirishima telling him to be more respectful–and you and Sero exchanged glances. Without another word, you grabbed Sero's wrist and began dragging him off into the busier part of the mall.

"Hurry up, slowpokes!" You called over your shoulder.

Kaminari placed his head in his hands. "How come Sero gets to hold her hand and I don't?"

Kirishima facepalmed. "This is exactly what I'm talking about, dude."

Since you had never been to the Kiyashi mall, everything was new and exciting. You were pretty sure you pointed out every single thing you saw, much to Sero's amusement. Although you didn't know it, the dark haired boy was giddy to not only be spending time with you, but also to be basically holding your hand.

There were only a few things you needed to buy, which was good considering the fact that you were broke. Well, broke might have been a bit dramatic, but you definitely couldn't walk around like Todoroki or Yaoyorozu buying anything you set your sights on.

I should've gone with Yaoyorozu, you sighed wistfully. She would've bought me anything I wanted. I mean, I would feel super guilty about using her like that, but still... free snacks.

Kaminari and Kirishima had caught up to you and Sero very quickly and, despite the blond's grumblings under his breath about the hand-holding fiasco, you found yourself having a very good time. The three boys were pretty close friends, but you didn't feel like you were being left out of the conversation in any way. You fit right in just like a puzzle piece.
