You had been trying to relax before the written exam, your head on the desk as you mentally rehearsed some of the flashcards you and Iida had gone over, when you felt a tap on your shoulder. Looking up, you were greeted with the grinning face of Pikachu's human version: Kaminari.

"(L/n), if I pass the written exam, will you go on a date with me?"

Before you could even begin to structure a response, Mina whirled around in her seat.

"(L/n), you can't!" She cried. "Kaminari, don't you dare steal my future wife away from me!" She began slapping at Kaminari like an affronted cat; the boy took the hits begrudgingly.

"I–what?" You asked.

Did he seriously just ask me out on a date? You blinked. Like an actual date, or...?

Ignoring Mina's attacks, the blond boy got down on his knees next to you and took your hands in his. "(L/n) (Y/n). I, Kaminari Denki, formally ask you out on a date under the condition that I pass the written portion of the exam. I studied for it super hard and I was thinking of you the whole time, I swear."

"That is true," Yaoyorozu chimed in from the back of the room. "I had a hard time getting him to focus. He kept trying to text you under the table and I had to take his phone away."

Kaminari sweatdropped. "Yaomomo, you're totally diminishing my street cred..."

Quite a few thoughts raced through your head at once. The first was the simple truth that you really liked Kaminari–he was one of your good friends and he was a sweetheart. The second was the fact that you couldn't quite tell if he was actually being serious or not. He seemed sincere enough, but he had a flair for dramatics; he was, after all, kneeling down next to you like he was asking for your hand in marriage. And thirdly, you had a sneaking suspicion–although you would never tell him to his face–that despite all of Yaoyorozu's assistance, the poor boy was not going to pass the written exam at all.

"She doesn't want to go on a fucking date with you. She's not an idiot," Bakugou interjected.

Kaminari's shoulders slumped, making you feel bad. Sure, he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box, but you didn't see the harm in agreeing to one little date that might or might not even happen.

"Sure, Kaminari," you said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "If you pass the written exam, I'll go on one date with you."

He leapt up from his spot on the floor and pumped his hand in their air in excitement. Mina wiped away a fake tear from her eye and Bakugou clicked his tongue.

"Trust me, (L/n)," Kaminari said. "You won't regret this."

You really, really hoped he was right.

With each moment that you and your class stood gathered outside of UA's front door, you began to feel less and less confident about Kendo's claim that the final exam would involve fighting robots. The major clue that gave it away was the fact that Aizawa was not the only pro hero standing in front of you–every single UA teacher as well as Endeavor were lined up in a row, all watching you with amused expressions on their faces. You crossed your arms, thinking about what it could mean; clearly it had to do with fighting something because you were all clad in your hero costumes.

When everyone appeared to be settled, Aizawa stepped forward and cleared his throat. "I'm sure you all have some knowledge about what you'll be up against in the practical exam."

On your left, Mina and Kaminari began to jump up and down, clutching onto each other. "Robots!" They yelled in unison, making a series of sound effects and squeals of joy as they did so.
