You frowned, double checking the location on your phone.

This is the right place... you thought. But where's Kaminari?

Against all odds, your classmate had managed to pass the written exam. In fact, everyone in your class had passed that portion, and most had passed the practical as well–although Kaminari had not. Although you wouldn't have admitted it out loud, you were glad that he had passed the written exam; even if he hadn't been serious about this being a date date, you were looking forward to spending some time with him outside of class. So, there you were, waiting in front of what appeared to be a children's animatronic restaurant.

"(L/n)!" You turned toward the voice and saw Kaminari running at you, waving wildly. He was dressed casually but nicely and he had the most genuinely happy expression you'd ever seen. "You came!"

"Of course I did," you said as he approached. "What, did you think I'd just ghost you or something?"

He chuckled nervously. "Bakugou told me not to get my hopes up."

You frowned. "Please tell me you weren't looking to Bakugou for dating advice."

"I didn't ask him," he said. "He just brought it up. Like six times in one lunch period. It was kinda putting me down in the dumps, but... you're really here, so it's okay!"

"Yep, I'm here," you said, shielding your eyes from the midday sun as you looked at the name of the restaurant, "at...Hoo-Ha Owl's Pizzamatronic Jamboree? No offense, dude, but what is this place?"

"You've never been?" Kaminari asked. When you shook your head, he just laughed. "Oh, you're in for a treat. I used to come here all the time when I was a kid. I think it's an American chain, but they've totally blown up over here. It's kinda geared toward kids, I guess, but... it's food and a show, what's not to love?"

Hoo-Ha Owl's Pizzamatronic Jamboree did, in fact, seem to be an incredibly American invention. From the moment you stepped inside, your eyes were assaulted with a barrage of colorful lights, flashing lasers, and the smoke from about six or seven smoke machines placed around the establishment. Kaminari led you over to a booth that was directly in front of a large stage. On the stage was a band of animatronic animals, including a badger, a frog, and what looked like a squirrel in a cheerleading costume. They were playing a country song and jerking around like, well, like robots.

A very unenthusiastic waiter came over and took your drink orders before disappearing into the back of the restaurant, leaving you and your date some time to talk. The music continued in the background, but it was not so loud that you couldn't hear what Kaminari was saying.

"I can't believe I failed the second part of the exam..." Kaminari rubbed his neck, an awkward grin on his face. "Totally embarrassing, huh?"

You chuckled. "It's not that embarrassing. I mean, you were up against the literal principal of a hero school. Plus, Nezu has some crazy level of intelligence and I think some sort of revenge fantasy against human beings. I probably wouldn't have stood a chance either."

"Aw, you're just saying that," the blond said. "But I guess you're right. It's not as embarrassing as Sero failing while Mineta passed. Mineta's my friend and all, but I mean, come on..."

"Yeah, I think that would cause irreparable emotional damage to anyone."

Kaminari laughed. "Speaking of emotional damage, I heard Endeavor was really pissed off after you and that dude... Shinto? After you guys fought him. Something about how he'd never been so insulted in his life... I'm not sure exactly."

"It's Shinso," you corrected, biting back a smile, "and yeah. I couldn't hear everything from where I was, but he was totally bashing him. It was mostly to get him to speak so Shinso could use his quirk, but I think he was kinda just having fun with it."
