Present Mic might have been an entertaining radio show host, but even he couldn't make English class fun. You were actually decently well-versed in English, thanks to the private lessons your parents used to send you to before they decided work was more important than child-rearing, so going over the basics was deathly boring. And it didn't look like you were alone in that opinion; everyone in the class except for Iida and Yaoyorozu looked bored out of their minds.

"Now, which one of these sentences contains a mistake?"

No one answered.

Present Mic sighed. "Come on, everybody, look alive! Grammar rules!"

I guess I didn't realize how much actual learning would be involved, you groaned, putting your head down on your desk. I thought the hero course would just be learning how to fight or do interviews or something.

There was, in fact, a lot of learning involved. Not only was UA known for its hero training, but also for its academics–a fact you hadn't fully grasped until you were plunged straight into an 8-hour day of class. Truth be told, UA seemed like a normal sort of school–a prestigious one, sure, but not one meant to specifically train pro heroes. At least, not until All Might burst through the classroom door.

"I...am here! Coming through the door like a hero!"

You had never actually seen the number one pro hero in person, and admittedly he was very impressive. Not only was he at least twice your height and muscular beyond belief, he seemed to radiate a glow from inside.

No wonder he's so popular, you thought. I can't believe he's actually a teacher; this seems way below his pay grade.

From your right you could hear Midoriya freaking out, his signature muttering going so quickly you could practically see the words floating around his head. You couldn't catch most of what he was saying, but the phrases "best day of my life" and "going to throw up" were clear enough.

"Welcome to the most important class at UA!" All Might said, flexing his muscles. "Think of it as Heroing 101. Here you will learn the basics of being a pro and what it means to fight in the name of good! Let's get into today's lesson." From his pocket he pulled out a piece of paper with the word BATTLE written on it.

Oh shit, you cursed. How the hell am I supposed to battle without using my quirk? Aizawa's training might help, but I doubt a punch is going to help much against a guy who can explode things with his hands or fucking electricity. It's so over.

All Might pointed to the wall of the classroom and it began to move. You and your peers watched in awe as what had previously been a blank space began to morph into a line of containers, each with names on them. "One of the keys to being a hero is...Looking good! These hero outfits were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started."

You grinned. Legally, your quirk was described as "is able to secrete a scent that attracts animals". Technically it was true, although the animals were actually Pokemon and there was a lot more to it than just a scent, but what the government didn't know wouldn't hurt it. Besides, people with Pokemon-based quirks tended to have unfortunate accidents. Your request form, however, was a different story. Aizawa had actually assisted you in creating a design that was simple yet effective for battle, as well as a piece of technology your mentor had sent privately to a support item designer who worked for the PPA–a hat that contained most of the same things your Pokedex did. When you put it on, a message appeared in front of your eyes that read 'scanning for nearby Pokemon'; it would be much easier than wiping out your cellular device during the heat of battle.
