By the time school was back in session, word had spread across all of Japan about the battle at the USJ. All of the news shots that had been publicized had focused on All Might and the only time you were on camera at all was as a blurry dot from a helicopter that had been flying overhead while you were watching Aizawa get lifted into the ambulance. The lack of knowledge about the actual class who had been attacked was perfectly fine with you; you had no desire to be outed by the media before the time came to show your stuff at the festival. That didn't stop you from getting stares and hearing whispers while you were on the train ride to UA.
"Look, Mommy! She's wearing a UA uniform! Do you think she was there?"
"Hush, Kuuro. I'm sure she doesn't want to be bothered."
You buried your face in your phone until you arrived.
The news was the main topic of conversation in your classroom. You were talking with Ojirou at his desk when Hagakure bounced over, her uniform seemingly moving on its own.
"Did you see the news last night?" She gushed. "It was so cool that we got a few seconds of screentime, right?" The sleeves of her outfit sunk down in despair. "Although, I guess no one noticed me."
"Probably," Shouji said from a few seats over.
Ojirou winced and started trying to reassure the invisible girl. "Well, it's probably hard to stand out when you're just gloves. But none of us were really infocus, anyway."
"Yeah, you said, "it was pretty much about All Might."
"Who knows what would've happened if he hadn't shown up," Sero said.
Mineta whipped his head around. "Don't say that! I'm gonna pee myself just thinking about it!" You made a face of disgust as Bakugou rolled his eyes.
"Oh shut up," he said. "Grow a pair, loser."
Iida marched up to the front of the room and cleared his throat. "Attention Class 1-A! Class is about to begin, please take your seats."
You held back a smile at how seriously Iida was taking his job, but said goodbye to Ojirou and went to your seat. Ashido leaned her chair back into your desk and looked at you, her face upside-down.
"Who do you think is gonna be teaching class today?" She asked. "Mr. Aizawa is still in the hospital."
It hurt you to think of your mentor bandaged up in the hospital bed. You had actually gone to visit him two days prior, and he had been even less talkative than usual. You were glad he was alive, but you still wish there was something you could have done to have kept him from being so seriously hurt. Before you could think on it any further, however, the classroom door opened and in walked what appeared to be some sort of living mummy.
"Morning class," the voice from the figure was muffled, but it was most certainly Aizawa's bored tone.
Kaminari sat up straight. "Woah! What a pro!"
"Mr. Aizawa, I'm glad you're okay!"
Uraraka raised an eyebrow. "You call that 'okay'?"
Aizawa waved a bandaged hand in the air. "My well-being is irrelevant. What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet."
"More bad guys?" Mineta gulped.
"Don't be stupid," your teacher muttered. "The UA Sports Festival is about to start."
Oh. That. The Sports Festival–only the most important and career-defining moment for every UA student, but for you especially. This was the time in the school year when Nezu would finally allow you to use your quirk in public, therefore showing that Pokemon could be used as forces for good. It had all happened so quickly; it felt like just yesterday you were standing in the principal's office with no plans except to work for the PPA for the rest of your life. And now here it was, after weeks of dodging questions about your quirk. The time had come to show it off in front of everybody.
