"You're going this way as well?"

Those were the first words Todoroki had said to you since the Sports Festival. He hadn't come up to you at all during class, he hadn't sat near you at lunch, and he had sat staring out of the window during the entire train ride. Now, it seemed, he had finally decided to stop giving you the silent treatment, and it was only to ask if you were following him.

You were actually following him. Endeavor's hero agency had sent you a letter with vague directions as to where you would be staying, but hadn't given you the exact address of the Todoroki family because they were worried about potential private information leaking out. So, thanks to that, you were resigned to following after your classmate like some sort of stalker, walking a few steps behind him and trying not to draw too much attention to yourself. The only thing that threw you off about his question was the fact that you assumed he already knew you would be interning alongside him.

"We're going to the same place," you said. "Didn't your father tell you I'd be interning with him?"

Some indiscernible emotion flashed across Todoroki's face before he resumed his normal neutral expression. "No, he did not inform me of this. My father and I..." He shook his head. "Nevermind. I understand why he sent you a request, but I don't understand why you accepted it."

"Well," you said, "it was the only one I got, so it's not like I had much of a choice."

Todoroki frowned, evidently confused, but kept walking. He was deep in thought about something and if you hadn't still been a little confused on where the two of you stood after that last match in the Sports Festival, you might have even asked him if something was wrong. But he didn't appear to be as open as he had been before your fight, so you didn't push it. The two of you walked in silence until you reached his home.

The building had a very classic Japanese feel to it. There were sliding doors and wood panels, as well as a koi pond and small garden out in the front yard. It was all very peaceful–a trait you associated more with Todoroki than his father, who had likely been the one to buy the place. The front door slid open to reveal a girl a bit older than you. She had white hair with a few red streaks, square glasses, and a kind face.

"Hi Shouto! Hi (L/n)!" She waved and ushered you both inside. "Come on in."

Shouto nodded to the girl but didn't stick around, instead disappearing into the belly of the house without a word to either of you. The girl gave you a strained smile.

"Sorry about him," she said. "He's, well...I'm sure you know. He's your classmate, after all." She held out her hand, which you took. "I'm Todoroki Fuyumi. You can just call me Fuyumi so it doesn't get too confusing."

"(L/n) (Y/n)," you said, grateful that apparently not every member of the Todoroki family was as emotionally closed off as the one you knew. "Are you also a pro hero?"

Fuyumi waved her hands in front of her face. "Oh no, being a pro hero isn't exactly up my alley. I'm a teacher. I really enjoy it." She put her finger to her lips. "That reminds me–Shouto said that you guys chose your hero names the other day. What's yours? I'm sure it can't be as boring as my brother's."

Three Days Prior

"Everyone quiet down," Aizawa said, holding up his hand in the air. "Today we're doing something very special."

Ominous, you thought.

Mina leaned back in her chair and leaned her head on your desk, looking up at you upside-down. "I wonder what it is..."

"It could be anything, knowing Mr. Aizawa," Tsuyu said.

"Hero names," said Aizawa bluntly. "Today you'll be choosing your hero names."
