You waited on the park bench, sunglasses masking your eyes as you gazed around at the passersby. There was a mother pushing a baby along the pathway in a stroller, a young man in full body tracksuit jogging in place, and a couple picnicking down by the tiny duck pond. None of them were who you were looking for. You were beginning to think that maybe you'd gotten the time wrong when someone sat down next to you.
The woman had long pink hair that was pulled into two buns on either side of her head and she was wearing sunglasses similar to yours. In her hand she held a paper bag, which she placed on the bench in between you both.
I bet this looks like a drug deal, you sweatdropped, picking up the bag and opening it. Inside was a white bottle with a green "+" plastered on the front. There was nothing else–no nutrition label or medical warning.
"The PPA thanks you for your service," the woman said, standing back up. "It's free of charge. Keep doing good work, (H/n)."
Although you had no idea who the woman was–other than the fact that she served as a medic for the PPA–you felt your heart swell with appreciation at her words. You crumpled up the bag and stood up, heading the opposite way from her.
I hope this stuff works, you thought as you sat on the train headed toward the Sunset Cafe for your shift. You had gone to the PPA a few days prior, unsure of what to do in regards to Pikachu. Your boss, Kumara Kito, had told you she would look into it, and that morning you had gotten a text from her telling you to head to that specific park bench and wait for a medic. The whole ordeal was unnecessarily sketchy and you weren't sure why they couldn't have just given the bottle to you the next time you went to headquarters, but it didn't matter now. All you knew was that you needed to drink the medicine–all of it–and then wait to see if it worked. Kumara had been brutally honest: no one else had a quirk like yours, so they weren't entirely sure how to help fix Pikachu up. But she'd gotten some of her best medics to work on it and they had come up with a probably illegal medicinal drug.
Drinking something given to you by a stranger, you thought. Good idea, (Y/n).
Your plan was to wait until after your shift to drink it, just in case it ended up making you sleepy, sick, or something else entirely. Placing the paper bag safely in your own bag, you pushed open the cafe door and made your way to the back.
"Finally!" Kosho said, using his quirk to roll over to you. "I thought I was going to die of boredom."
You grinned, tying your apron around your waist. "Worry not, good sir, for I am here."
Kosho began rambling about an incident he had seen on the train ride over as you both made your way back to the front counter. You were only half listening to him, but stopped completely when you saw someone waiting by the register. And not just anybody, but somebody you knew.
"Shinso?" Your eyes widened. "Wh-?"
Shinso, hands in his pockets and shirt collar half-open, looked at you in the same amount of surprise you felt. "(L/n)? You work here?"
Kosho grinned cheekily. "Well now, who do we have here?"
"Uh, this is Shinso," you said. "He goes to UA, too. We're friends."
"Friends?" Kosho raised an eyebrow. "Is that it? You sure you're not more than that?"
You felt your face heat up as you pinched the bridge of your nose. Shinso's face tinted pink too, obviously just as embarrassed as you.
"Not yet, I see..." Kosho muttered. He gave Shinso a once-over and then crossed his arms. "Well, I'm happy to see (Y/n) has some good options. I was starting to fear you'd be stuck with that boy with the red and white hair. He's so not good for you."
