A/N

Okay, wow. Hi everyone! Sorry for not updating anything in literally the last 4 years.

Some of you who remember this story might also remember me as DumbkiKaminari, but I've changed my name and profile because I feel as though I'm a bit of a different person than I was back when I first started writing.

To keep things honest and simple: I sort of lost interest in BNHA and then moved away from writing fanfiction as a whole while I was working through school. I have genuinely no idea what just recently caused me to have another bout of inspiration, but I found myself really wanting to write something and I remembered that I used to have a decent amount of people reading my stories–Flaws in particular.

After re-reading my own work (which was incredibly painful, because I hate reading things I've written), I was able to get back in the mindset of this main character a bit and reignite my original love for this fic.

My plan (as of the moment) is to continue to publish new chapters, although perhaps not super consistently or quickly, and to go back and edit the old ones. My writing style has definitely changed over the years (and hopefully improved). Some of the first chapters I quite liked, but I personally feel like my writing style got very generic and casual in some of the later ones and I think you can kind of tell when I began losing interest.

Luckily I have a job where I have a lot of free time and we are encouraged to do outside work to fill the empty space, so I find myself having a lot of writing time. I'm always working on original fiction, but I think that it's time I bring some fanfiction back into my life.

Also, just a side note, I have not watched or read anything from BNHA since the Kai Chisaki arc came out, so if I mess up something that might be common knowledge, please bear with me haha.

That being said, please accept my apology for my late return and enjoy the chapter :)

Twelve Years Prior

There was a time when you were happy.

It's all a sort of fuzzy, hazy, golden memory to you now, but there are snippets that give a glimpse into the truth of your early days of childhood. Licking cake batter off a wooden spoon as your mother was baking (back in the days where she used to bake), listening to rock 'n' roll through a tinny radio in the garage while your father worked silently and lovingly on a vintage motorcycle. But most of all, you remember your tea parties.

The garden behind your house was–to a four-year-old you–the most beautiful place on Earth. The grass was a bold green and kept neatly trimmed and sakura trees lined the outer edge, creating a barrier of bright pink petals that would float down and land haphazardly among the flower beds. Sometimes a leaf or two would make its way into your tea cups, but that was alright because they never had any tea in them to begin with.

Your tea parties were an imaginative extravaganza. Everyone who was anyone was there: Mr. Teddy, Bunny the Rabbit, and of course the distinguished Leo Lion. The tea set itself was plastic, but with the right mindset, it turned into the finest China in all of Japan, and you graced your guests' pallets with only the richest of teas and the richest cookies. The whole thing was set up on a white and red checkered picnic blanket which you dragged out into the garden every day on which it didn't rain. Sometimes the snacks were real, if your mother had been in the kitchen while you passed through, but sometimes you were left to dream as wildly as you wished.
