Swayam's POV
Somehow the night got over and the feeling was starting to show its effect on me.
Sweaty palms, shaky hands, difficulty in breathing and something more than being just nervous.
I woke up at 8 a.m. in the morning, late than usual and got up to freshen myself and then decided to do my routine check on Veer. His parents weren't here yet so I rubbed the leftover sleep from my eyes and began walking till his room. I was feeling restless. It was going to be an eventful day. Kriya would be here and I didn't know how that was gonna turn out for Veer and me.
I was walking and saw Veer's doctor approaching me. We both stopped in front of Veer's room. He greeted me and I looked in the room which was empty now.
"We shifted Veer in a private ward at night, it's just straight and right turn, room no. 105. I checked on him, he is awake but requires a lot of rest and sleep for a speedy recovery. I told him everything so he is waiting for you in there... don't stress him much okay?"
"I understand that doctor thank you"
He nodded and left. I reached for my phone and texted Veer's parents the details and then compelled myself to walk into his room and face him.
After everything he had done for us I felt distraught and regretful. I didn't know how to look him in the eye and stand in front of him.
Somehow I managed to reach his room and taking all the time in the world I pushed the door.
He was lying on the bed there, staring at the ceiling but noticing me he started to get up. I rushed forward to stop him and I adjusted his bed so that he could have a comfortable position and then I pulled out the small stool and sat beside his bed. Help me God, I didn't want it to be awkward like before.
Clearing my throat I proceeded with the 'talk'...
"Hey Veer, how are you feeling?" I asked and eyed all of his injuries. They were bad but still he was out of any probable danger which was the best thing.
"I have been better but this is not that bad" he replied in a low voice and winked. We chuckled at his reply but even that little activity made him wince in pain.
"Hold that humor for a while if you can. I... I wanted to thank you for whatever you did for us. It could have caused you your life"
"I did what I thought was right to do at that moment. I knew how much that studio meant to both of you. I couldn't just back down without a fight. How's the studio by the way?"
"It's in renovation. Minimum damage all because of you"
"Thank god... these paid off" he said pointing towards all the bandages and injuries. I rolled my eyes and he lifted his one hand to wave it off. I wanted to tell him about Kriya so I cautiously broached that part.
"Veer! Um... about Kriya..." I only said half of it before his interjection.
"Yeah I know I was out of line I am sorry Swayam. It wasn't my place to ask you. If she wanted anything to do with me she would have done it by herself so I assume she doesn't want anything from me... I will just be out of your lives. I am sorry again"
I was astonished and speechless. How could this man possibly say that? At this point he needed her the most I could see that in his eyes. He only had his parents and his few hell of friends who didn't even show up once and yet he was thinking about us first and not about him. He didn't even mention her once until I did. Way to make me feel guilty Veer.
"Veer!! Kriya will be here by noon" I said and he stopped whatever he was thinking to look at me with wonderment in his eyes.
"I called her and told her about you. She couldn't handle it well. She planned on talking to you after coming back... so I guess it was meant to happen"
