Samuel

“How will you know which one she is?” I asked as we arrived at one of the many villages.

“I just will. Her aura will be different.”

“Her aura? You can see auras?”

“When I wish to.”

“What else can you do? Can you breathe fire?”

“Do you dare mock the dragons?” She glanced back, laughing.

“Never. I am much too wise to do such an idiotic thing.”

“Yes you are. Wait. I feel her. She is close.” She stopped her horse and looked around, eyes flashing white. She nodded as they locked onto a small house. We walked up to the door and knocked several times until it opened. A young woman peeked out, her dark hair falling into her face.

“Nikita. You have come. And you brought a guest.” Her deep brown eyes fell on me, glaring.

“He is my guard. He goes where I go. He knows.”

“Has he sworn to secrecy?”

“It is implied. He knows of the consequences. Now, would you mind moving? I am very cold out here and I do have a few more guests that dislike the cold.”

The woman looked down to the bag at Nikita’s waist, gasping. She stepped back, nodding. She gestured to a chair as she sat. “Let me see them.” She held out her hands eagerly, biting her full lip.

Nikita took out the dragon and smiled as it looked around in excitement.

“It is true. We were unsure of the breeds and I told them all, ‘she has a water dragon, I know it.’ They did not listen. I was right. Hello my sweet.” She knelt down in front of Nikita, raising her hand hesitantly to stroke the dragon’s small head. It purred and leaned into her palm, nearly falling over when she moved.

“Will you help me?” Nikita asked, staring at the girl.

“I will do everything in my power to make sure these dragons survive. You have my word.”

Nikita

“Goodnight, my lady.” the girl, Leia, called, shutting the door behind her.

I looked over to the case holding my dragon eggs with a sleepy smile. Soon. I closed my eyes, sighing happily.

“Nikki! Darling, wake up.” a voice whispered as something shook me. I turned to see Samuel stretching with a small yawn. I looked around in confusion. I was back in the castle.

“Samuel? What is going on?”

“What do you mean, my love?” This was a dream. The real Samuel would not call me his love. I wondered if Lilith would be in this dream.

“Sam, I have a question for you. Do you know anyone named Lilith?” I asked hesitantly, looking down.

“My daughter? Yes I know her. Are you ok?”

“Perfect.” I smiled, giggling as I hugged him.

“Um…good morning?” His arms were around me, pulling me onto my knees even as he pulled back to look at me with confusion.

“Good morning. Sam, may I kiss you?”

“You do not need to ask, my love.” He chuckled before leaning down to brush his lips against mine. We were interrupted by a little girl’s giggle. I pulled away to see a slightly bigger Lilith peeking into the room, hiding behind her long blond hair. She squealed when we spotted her and ducked away. I could hear her little feet running down the hall. I laughed, grinning. “Did you have a good dream last night? You are blushing.”
