Nikita's POV

I awoke to the sound of squealing. I opened my eyes to see two little children next to me. One was Lilith and the other looked to be one, maybe a small two year old. Lilith looked to be three now.

“Mommy!” she shrieked, giggling as they jumped onto the bed and hugged me.

“Good morning?” I mumbled, looking around in confusion. I wasn’t in the castle this time.

“Mommy, I made you a present!” Lilith yelled in her cute little girl voice.

“What is it?”

She grabbed my hand and we all climbed out of the bed. I laughed as they both started pulling me out of the room.

“What about mommy’s dress?” I pointed out, looking down at my short night gown.

“Come on!” they insisted, tugging at my hands again.

I figured it was only a dream so I let them pull me down the stairs.

“Ah, the sleeping beauty awakes. Good morning, love.” Samuel walked over from another room to give me a small little kiss, which both of the children protested at.

“I want to show mommy my present!” Lilith whined, clinging to my leg.

“Well go show her.” He leaned down to kiss her nose and then disappeared back into the room.

They led me into what appeared to be an art room. It was my dream room. It had easel after easel, just waiting to be used. There were several dressers and from one of the open drawers, I could see charcoal and paints.

“Look!” Lilith yelled, pointing to an easel. It was a painting of what I assumed was us. There were four stick figures, two with long yellow hair and then two with short spiked yellow hair. They were in front of a house.

“Aw, baby girl, did you make this?” I asked, crouching down to her level.

She nodded proudly and then pointed to one of the stick figures. “That one is you.”

“I love it. Thank you, princess.” I pulled her into my arms and kissed her cheek, giving her a tight squeeze.

“Mommy!” she protested, giggling again.

 “Did you show daddy?”

“Yeah. He helped me.”

“I did not. I put it onto an easel but you did everything else.” his smooth voice said from behind me.

I straightened up and picked the little boy up.

“Hi there.” I cooed, smoothing his hair back. He hid his face in my neck as I rubbed his back.

“And to think, you wanted to go back to the castle.” Samuel murmured into my ear before bending to pick up Lilith.

“And I am so glad I didn’t.”

“Me too.” He kissed my forehead, wrapping his free arm around my waist.

“Family.” the little boy mumbled into my shoulder.

“Yes, my little prince. Family.”
