Would I rather them be angry,
To stop talking and then blame me,
Or have them make a choice,
One that means they lose their voice?
Would I rather them be upset
About me being nosy when
I'm really just worried about
The choice to end their melt down?
Would I rather them be ignorant
And say no one can help, it's different
And then to force the help to take away the knife
Because their choice could end their life?
Yes. Because
I would rather them be sorrowful
Over a girl they used to hold,
And tell me the sadness they once felt
They are now peacefully living without.
I would rather them to start over
When they used to be obsessed with a clover
That stood out in the field but deceived
Because it had not four, but three leaves.
I would rather them to put down the knife,
The one they picked up because of strife
And realize that someday it will get better
So long as they're here, not choosing the latter.
Even if
They would be mad and leave
Because they don't want to see me
All because I meddled in
Things that weren't my business.
Because
A mad friend, an ignorant friend
Is better than one who found their end.
So I'm glad I meddled in
Things that weren't mine to meddle in.
