i wish i could tell you
that i can picture the two of us:
late nights, pizza, and games,
discussions that are superfluous.
i wish i could tell you
that i dream about you often;
i can't see you now that we're separated,
and it's the only other option.
i wish i could tell you
that i understand what you're going through
and could console your younger siblings
cause i know it hurts them deeply too.
i wish i could tell you
to just say what you're thinking,
and actually get an answer from you
about all of your feelings.
i wish i could tell you
all of this face to face,
so i guess that gives me enough time
to prepare, gain courage, for another day.
