my life is a lie;
                              but it's not yet safe to cry.
                              they put on a show,
                              but it's not my place to know.

                              I heard the words come out,
                              and now I am filled with doubt.
                              were they empty, meaningless,
                              or is it true, what I've witnessed?

                              my life is a lie;
                              but it's not yet safe to cry.
                              I have to listen still,
                              Though I'd prefer a sleeping pill.

                              it's late and I should be asleep,
                              not to stumble on what's happening.
                              ignorance is bliss they say,
                              so don't let me see the future or wake up today.

                              my life is a lie;
                              but it's not yet safe to cry.
                              perhaps it was a simple fight,
                              one of many silly strifes.

                              I hope and I pray,
                              that I may see the light of day,
                              and forget about the argument
                              that I hope was extortionate.
