It simmers and stretches in silence
It eats off your happiness
Draws out your sadness
And tips over your balance.
It gnaws at the hole in your heart
And ingrains nostalgia in your mind
So that you think about your lost finds
Until you're no longer apart.
If I crave it, then it's accepted
But I still need to hear
The voices of those I need near
Or there's a panning, silent, deadness in my head.
How much longer can one fight it
Until it destroys your empty soul
And you're no longer whole,
Because a missing piece can't possibly fit?
