My walk is rendered useless
With no one else but me.
I'm sure I look strange to the people
Who enjoy it with their dogs or family.
It's a bluff to the mailbox,
When I really just want some peace.
With the birds, bright sky, smell of rain;
One would say the beautiful masterpiece.
It's a breath of fresh air,
Rejuvenating my spirits,
Until I realize I'm to walk it alone,
Lonely even in appearance.
But I amuse myself with the thought
That someone else is walking alone,
Someone else who would cross my path
Dare they had the courage shown.
It's funny, for I could be describing love;
The walk of discovery, the walk between hearts,
It's useless unless there's two together,
Useless, if love is sparse.
And yet it may still be beautiful,
A fantasy for one to live in;
Perhaps another could join in,
If only their hearts are not timid.
But shall it remain one,
It's a useless waste of energy.
And it's painful, false hope,
For it's all fake memories.
So maybe I could search
For the one I hope is walking alone;
They say love, you cannot force it,
But an unwatered flower has never grown.
But I have not yet the confidence,
Nor the realm to search the unknown;
I wish someone could tell me
So I don't have to walk it alone.
