"Do we have to, Mom?" Trinity complained. She wasn't looking forward to having to spend the summer at her aunt's house with her sister, Tara.

"Yes, and you're going to have a great time," their mother explained.

Once they arrived, Mrs. Anderson dropped the two girls off, then drove back home.

"Oh hello, girls!" Aunt Carol said. "I found some kids around your age that you should meet. Most of them are fifteen, like you, Trinity. But there are two twelve year olds you can hang out with, Tara."

"Sounds great, Aunt Carol. Um can we come inside?" Tara asked.

"Oh yes. Of course," she said, ushering them inside. "I'll show you to your room."     Trinity and Tara were given a room in the attic.

"Okay- you get that side, I get this side, don't cross the line, got it?" Trinity ordered.

"Fine," Tara said. The two girls unpacked, then walked downstairs. "Let's go meet those kids Aunt Carol was talking about."

"Ugh, no. They're probably just a bunch of nerds and bookworms- like you," she teased.

"Come on, let's give them a chance. They could be great," Tara suggested, optimistically.

"They usually hang out at this store called the Mystery Shack, so you two could probably find them there," Aunt Carol said. "Look for a tall girl with red hair. That's Wendy."

The two girls walked through town trying to find the alleged Mystery Shack. Finally, they came to a clearing in the woods and there it was. Teenage laughter came from inside. Trinity opened the door, and they entered the Mystery Shack.

"Hey, who are you guys?" a red headed teenage girl asked.

"A-are you Wendy, by any chance?" Tara asked.

"Yeah, why do you ask?" She replied.

"We're new in town. Our aunt, Carol Anderson, sent us over to make friends or whatever," Trinity said.

"Oh, cool. What're your names and personalities?" Wendy asked.

"That's Tara, she likes fantasy novels, musicals, and old timey horror movies. I'm Trinity, and I like punk rock bands," Trinity explained.

"Cool. The girl on her phone over there," Wendy began, pointing to a girl with pink highlights, "that's Tambry. Those two are Nate and Lee, and the other is Thompson. The two young ones are Dipper and Mabel, they're twelve, and this is Robbie," she said, introducing everyone.

Trinity stayed to talk with Wendy and Robbie, while Tara went to talk with Mabel.

"I like your sweater," she said. It had a puppy playing basketball on it.

"Thank you. I'm Mabel. How do you like Gravity Falls so far?" she asked.

"I literally just got here about an hour ago," Tara explained.

"Hi, I'm Dipper, but I guess you knew that? I don't know, uh, so you, uh, you like books?" Dipper asked, blushing. Wow, he's pretty cute, Tara thought.

"Uh, yeah. You?" she asked, noticing his book. Dipper nodded. "What is it? Can I see?"

"Well, uh, I don't know. I mean, uh...." he looked up at Tara, who was slightly taller than him, and smiled. "Okay. Follow me."

He led her into a room upstairs in the attic. It appeared to be his bedroom. "I found this journal when I arrived in Gravity Falls. It explains all of the secrets and mysteries that go on here."

"Wait, mysteries? What do you mean?" she asked.

"Ever since I got here, weird stuff has happened. There's been mermaids, manotaurs, gnomes, cursed video games...weird stuff. Anyway, this journal explains what happens here," Dipper explained.

     "Cool," Tara said, interestedley.

Downstairs, Trinity was talking about bands with Robbie and Wendy.

"No way! You listen to Pierce the Black Parade, too? Have you heard they're new EP?" Robbie asked, engrossed in the conversation.

"Only a hundred times today," Trinity replied. "Please tell me you've heard My Chemical Sirens?"

"What else would my ring tone be?" he countered.

     "Black Veil Romance?" Wendy asked.

"Only my favorite," Trinity replied, smiling.

"Oh my gosh, Trinity, you're awesome! How have you lived away from us for all this time?" Robbie asked, with a grin.

"Your sister seems pretty cool, too. Where's she go by the way?" Wendy said. Trinity shrugged. "Hey, Mabel! Where'd Tara go?"

"I think I saw her go upstairs with Dipper. They seem to have a lot in common," she replied.

"Um, Mabel? Could you go upstairs and tell her that we need to be home by six?" Trinity asked.

"Okie dokie." Mabel skipped upstairs to go talk to Tara. A man in a question mark t-shirt walked into the room.

"Hey dudes. Where's Dipper and Mabel? They wanted to go out solving mysteries," he explained.

"Hey, Soos," Wendy replied. "Oh yeah! They have a new friend with them. Her name is Tara and she likes books. She seems really sweet. You should bring her with you guys."

"Sounds good, dudes," he said, walking back out.

     "Who was that?" Trinity asked.

"That's Soos. He works here, at the Mystery Shack," Wendy replied.

While Robbie, Wendy, and Trinity continued their hand talk, Dipper, Mabel, Tara, and Soos went out to find the Gobblewonker, or the lake monster. They spent the whole day trying to find it, but we're unsuccessful. By the time Trinity and  Tara went back to their aunt Carol's, they had each made some great friends and had a fun, crazy, paranormal summer lying ahead of them filled with time-travel, romances, wax figures, and copying machines.
