"Love is the voice under all silences, the hope which has no opposite in fear; the strength so strong mere force is feebleness: the truth more first than sun, more last than star." ~ E. E. Cummings.

We finish watching movies at 1am. My mom called Emily and Jake's parents earlier and told them that she's happy to let them stay over since it's getting late.

Jake slept in the guest room and Emily slept with me since my mom is against teenage boy and girl sharing the same room.

My mind is flustered with thoughts and emotions, making me tense and unable to sleep. I check the time to see that's it's 3am and look over to see Emily fast asleep. I lie flat on my back, looking up to the ceiling whilst playing with the hem of my shirt, hoping that my eyes will soon become heavy with sleep.

The sound of the alarm screeches boisterously in my ear making me hover my pillow over my head. The annoying sound still manages to cry in my ear, so I lazily fumble around to shut the alarm off. I finally take a hold of it then tap twice on the top making the room completely silent. I pinch my eyes open to read the dazzling red numbers.

7:00am.

I sigh and turn to the other side when I realize Emily isn't in bed. My feet meets the ground and I crawl to the bathroom to brush my teeth before heading downstairs. The sweet odor of whatever is being prepared fills my nostrils making me drool and my stomach ache. As I approach closer to the kitchen, I hear ramblings from two different voices that I can recognize anywhere; Emily and Jake.

"Lizzie, you're up." Emily says when I enter the kitchen. "Your mom left early. She didn't want to wake you." she adds and I nod before responding.

"Any plans for today?" Emily and Jake look at each other, before focusing their attention on me.

"Um, no." Jake responds. "It's the weekend, we are planning on hanging here with you." Emily adds, looking back at Jake.

I know my friends all to well to know that they cleared their schedule of whatever they had planned for today to stay here with me. While it's flattering and sweet, I don't want them to put their life on hold because of me and besides, I had promised that I would spend the day with Ethan.

"You don't have to babysit me. I'm fine really." I say to them both, and Emily gives me that 'yeah right look'.

"Besides, Ethan and I are spending the day together." I add, hoping that they'll see that I really am okay.

"Can we at least have breakfast first?" Emily asks and I smile.

"Sure." And with that the three of us ate while speaking about random things. I blush when Jake mentions Ethan's name.

"So are you guys together now?" Jake asks and I shrug my shoulders. Ethan and I never defined what we are. Apart from our few intimate moments and the few times when we use the 'L' word that's pretty much it.

"Um, we've never really spoken about it. With all the crazy stuff that have been happening lately I guess we haven't had the right moment." I explain, taking a sip of my orange juice.

"Well..." Emily says before pausing for a few seconds. "I just want you to be happy Liz." she adds, placing her hand on mine and I do the same.

The rest of the time is spent reminiscing about moments that we've shared. We even mention that moment when Regina flirted with Jake, making us burst into laugher as we remember how Emily 'handled' the situation.
