"The best kind of love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds." ~ Nicholas Sparks.

That one thing we all hate waking up to in the morning. I open my eyes to the sound of my alarm screeching in my ear, which I slam face down to shut the alarm off. My eyelids are still heavy with sleep and my head is pounding. Immediately as my feet meets the ground, the chill from the cold tiles streaks through my feet penetrating my entire body. I manage to move lazily to the bathroom.
Ugggh! I'm so not in the mood for school.
I quickly take a shower and slip into a pink long sleeve dress and let my hair down.
I grab my bag and stride down the stairs when I'm greeted with the smell of bacon and eggs. Walking in the kitchen, my mom hands me a coffee, it's like she is reading my mind. Coffee is the only thing keeping me going these days, I quietly thank her and take my seat at the island.
"You can take a few days off from school you know." I hear my mom says, as I'm taking small sips of my coffee. "You've been through a lot over the weekend, I'd understand if you're not feeling up for school."
Okay. Who is she and what has she done with my mom!?
My mom never let me miss school, unless it's extremely important. When my dad died I wanted to stay home for a few days, but my mom insist on me going.
"I'm okay mom. Graduation is just a few week away. I don't want to miss out on anything." I say and she nods.
After drinking my coffee, I quickly devour the food in front of me when I hear the sound of a car horn honking outside.
"That must be Emily, bye mom." She mouthed goodbye, as I make my way towards Emily's black Honda Fit and take my seat on the front.
"Thanks for picking me up Em." I say to Emily as soon as I'm strapped to the front seat. I'm still not mentally ready to drive my own car, Emily volunteered to be my chauffeur until I'm ready to get back around my own steering.
"No problem." She says with a soft smile before driving off slowly. I look through the window aimlessly as Emily drives pass the big city buildings and people rushing to go to work. The wind blows a breeze in through the car window, making my hair fly to it's strength.
We arrive on the school's campus so Emily pulls her car into a free parking spot and jams the gear stick into park.
We walk to class with our hands laced together, I sigh in relief when I realize the clear path along the hall way, not in the mood to push through people just to get to my locker and from my locker to class.
My first class is Literature. If I was one of those idlers I'd skip my first class because I don't have the strength to rehearse romantic lines with Ethan, especially since he has been avoiding me. Thankfully Emily is here with me. She makes my school days more bearable. We should all have a friend like that, one where you don't have to say any words to but they'll totally get it, one that sees the pain behind your brightest smile and one whom you can share your most shameful scars to without them judging.
Walking in the class I notice everyone that's present are in their respective positions. Mr. Young is seated at his desk, waiting for the rest of the students to arrive.
After ten minutes, everyone shows up...everyone except Ethan.
I look towards the door each time I hear footsteps approaching, but none of which belongs to him. He is avoiding my calls and messages and now he's ditching school, what's wrong with him.
