New day. Wake up. Get dressed. Eat. Sandlot. I would say doing the same thing everyday is boring but it really isn't. I started heading out to the Sandlot.
Once I arrived I greeted everyone with a "hi" or "yo". They all said good morning back or gavw me a hug except mattia. He literally turned around and went onto the field when I was going to approach him. Are you actually joking bro. Why does he do this. I brushed it off and tried to enjoy the rest of the game. We played until dark like usual. I hugged each of the boys goodbye but Mattia was already nearly at his front door. Typical. Before leaving I asked to talk to Kairi real quick.
"yeah for sure what's up?" he questioned.
"do you know what the hell mattias problem is?" I snapped.
He looked a bit surprised but then a smile started to appear on his face.
"I know it isn't easy to tell but he likes you" Kairi announced.
I was taken back and very confused. Out of no where I bursted out into laughter. This man must literally be delusional.
"You're joking, you have to be" I remarked.
"I can assure you I'm not" he insisted.
"Kairi do you see the way he ignores me."
"Yes I do but I also see the things he does for you and the way he acts when you make him soft."
I thought about it. When he punched Geo. And hugged me in the middle of our neighborhood street late at night. Or Fourth of July when we held hands and watched the fireworks together. It still didn't make any sense.
"He's probably just teasing me. If he really did like me there is no reason he should ignore me" I argued.
"I don't know where any of that is coming from but I can't personally speak on his behalf, that's something you have to discuss with him" Kairi stated before walking off.
I stood there for a minute trying to comprehend everything Kairi told me. He couldn't be right, right? I realized how creepy I must look standing alone in a field not moving. I started walking back to my home keeping all the thoughts in my head. I didn't really know what to make of it but I did decide that I was going to talk to Mattia tomorrow one way or another.
Once I got home I said goodnight to my parents and hopped into bed. I didn't go to sleep right away, rather I stared at the ceiling and once again started to think. I don't remember when I fell asleep but I did.
