Blocking the glaring sunlight, that continues to wake me up every morning, I urge myself to sit up. I rub my eyes continuously to try and wake me from my sleepy daze. I check the time on the small clock that sat on my bedside table.

9:43.

Perfect. I threw on a baggy, black t shirt paired with my usual dark washed jeans I wore just about every week. I slipped on my white converse and popped my Chapstick into my back pocket.

I walked down my stairs to find breakfast made for me. I would have thanked my parents but they weren't there. All that accompanied the small plate of bacon and eggs was a note. I trotted over to it while slipping a piece of bacon into my mouth.

Good morning sweetie! Enjoy breakfast, sorry we aren't home. Had a business trip again. Left a ten dollar bill in case of emergency. We will be gone for two days so please be safe. We love you - Mom and Dad <3

I smiled at the last part as my mouth was filled with a combination of the two foods.

"love ya two" I quietly whisper.

I was soon finished with the filling meal and rinsed the plate I used, leaving it in the sink. I grabbed a napkin and wiped the crumbs off my face, throwing it away soon after. I realized it was probably time to meet up with the boys. I think they'll be happy to see me after I missed a day.

I twisted the door knob making my way outside. When I turned to where the boys usually are I saw them nearly turning the corner. I jogged to catch up with them confused as to why they left without me.

"It's only been a day, did you guys already forget about me."

They all turned around to face me in shock. I was standing there still confused as to why they were so surprised to see me.

"Hey Natalie, didn't think you would be up to play today" Kairi told me softly.

I raised an eyebrow at his response. "Why wouldn't I be."

What looks like realization soon makes its way to his facial features but it's soon overcome by slight anger. Mattia stands still looking like a deer in headlights.

Kairi nudges Mattia with his elbow and leans close to his ear.

"What the actual hell dude, you didn't tell her?" Kairi questions him.

"Not yet I'm so sorry."

"I know you're not apologizing to me right now. She deserves better than this. And you know it." He took a sharp breath in through his nose while closing his eyes. "If you don't tell her today, so help me Mattia I will." With that he pulls away from Mattias ear and focuses his attention back to me.

The entire conversation was too quiet for me to hear but I knew something was up. Anyone could notice. I once again tried to push the thought away, but not too far. What if he is actually hiding something? What if it's really bad? I care for Mattia, a lot, and that affection I have for him only grows as the days pass. I'm vulnerable around him and I open up. He earned that position so it's hard to believe he might risk it, but I couldn't put it past him. Especially since he's been acting this way. By the end of the day, I will know what's going on. One way or another.

"Is anyone going to tell me what's happening" I finally speak up.

"yeah same" Ale began.

The other boys aside from Kairi and Mattia nodded with us in agreement.

"nothing" Mattia stated trying to stay calm.

"There's clearly something going on" Roshuan implied.

"nope" Mattia once again denied.

"Come on dude just te-"

"I SAID NOTHING IS WRONG!" screamed an angry Mattia while cutting off Alvaro mid sentence.

I jumped back slightly scared at the abrupt behavior from my boyfriend. I hid my fear almost as quickly as it had appeared.

"okay" whispered Alvaro.

"Lets just go to the sandlot, alright guys" Kairi suggested.

The boys silently agreed, probably out of shock of what just happened. I did the same, coming to the decision that I would have to find out, about what was going on, later today.

We walked to the Sandlot in complete silence. It wasn't the comforting or peaceful kind of silence, instead, it was an awkward one. No one dared to speak up against this silence that seemed to hunch over us as we walked. It was more dreadful each minute we maintained it, but soon enough, we made it to our destination. Fortunately, there was no Lexi.

Once we arrived, the silence broke because we were about to play our favorite sport. Each second we were there, everyone began to loosen up more. It was relieving. The boys and I were smiling and laughing in no time. I found myself cracking up to a comment Robert made and I was so happy to be accompanied by a smile that only my bestfriends could provide.

As the day went on, we seemed to be joking around more than playing baseball.

Earlier we thought we lost Alvaro but he was actually hiding under some blankets in the dugout. He was hiding under there for a while until the boys motioned for us to follow them indicating that they found him. When we lifted the blankets he was under, his eyes widened to the size of saucers and he started to scream like he saw a literal demon. That caused me to throw myself onto the floor consumed by laughter. I held my stomach in pain because I was laughing to much. I slowed down the giggling and took deep breaths trying to hold back the laughs that were still threatening to erupt. He through the left over blankets that laid on him begging for water and covered in sweat.

"It was hotter than hell under there please water. WATER!" he screamed.

This once again caused the boys and I to cackle.

After that, it was mid day and we tried to get back on track. Robert was up to bat and he was prepared to swing. The first pitch was thrown but his bat barely missed it when he swung. Strike one. When the second pitch was thrown, he was sure he was going to hit it, and he did. It was launched into right field where Roshaun stood. The ball was masked by the blinding light of the sun, and no one could see it without covering your eyes from the sun. Roshaun couldn't do this considering he had to catch the ball with both hands, so he tried to focus. You could see him squinting, searching for the ball when it suddenly dropped out of the sky and onto his head.

"OH SHIT, FUCK" he yelled.

Everyone started to crack up and none of us could stop.

"Yo that hurt why the fuck are you guys laughing" Roshaun complained rubbing the spot where he was hit.

"THERES A BUMP!" he screamed sounding scared.

This only made us laugh more.

The rest of the day continued with moments like these and it was honestly amazing. It's crazy to think how bad it would soon be.

The sun was setting and darkness was threatening to take over the suns beam. The boys decided to call it a day as we packed up. We were talking about Roshauns bump as we began our walk back to the neighborhood. I chose to question Mattia back at our houses. As we try to turn a corner, Lexi steps out in front of me. I was startled but kept my cool.

"You are not ruining my day bitch."

"I'm suprised it isn't already" she replied with obvious sass.

"What is that supposed to mean" I ask already annoyed at this conversation.

"Well you seem to be fine with your boyfriend. Can't believe you forgave him that fast."

Mattia tensed up when she said this and I noticed. Seeing that I decide to carry on the talk with her.

"forgave him?" I question confused.

"Oh so he still hasn't told you yet?"

Authors note: the Alvaro part made me laugh so bad loll. but poor Natalie deserves better :( What do you thinks gonna happen in the next chapter?
