I woke up to nobody in the small treehouse. I was confused and wondered where everyone went. I then realized that I was probably late to the Sandlot. I got ready with the extra clothes I got when I ran into my house and threw my shoes on. I ran down to the Sandlot to see the boys already playing.
"Why didn't you guys wake me up" I yelled in a fake mad tone.
"I don't know we thought it would be funny if you freaked out when awake and then realizing no ones there" Alvaro said with a chuckle.
"ha. ha." I fake laughed and joined the game.
It was soon my turn to bat. The ball was thrown and I watched the first one pass by me.
Strike.
Pitch number two was headed straight to the catchers glove. I swang the bat and the ball landed in between right field and middle field.
I ran fast and made it the home base.
Homerun.
I was doing my victory dance thinking it was just me and the boys. I was wrong.
The boys ran in and formed a line right before me. I didn't know what they were doing until I saw them starting behind me. I turned around to face another group of boys watching me.
My face grew red and I went around in the line of my boys. I heard Mattia chuckle and I stared him down.
"Well well well look like we stumbled upon the loosers" said one of the boys wearing real jerseys.
"Who's this cutie" said the tallest one on the team pointing to me.
"Don't worry about it" said Mattia holding me back in a protective way.
He was acting weird so I pushed him away and walked up to the tallest player who seemed like the captain.
"Hi I'm Natalia smalls" I held out my hand and he shook it.
"Hello there Natalia you seem lovely and by seeing that hit I'm guessing your better than half the guys here" he sorta whispered with a smile.
Alejandro pulled me back while I smiled and the cute guy.
"Tomorrow at 9 we play a game against you guys to settle who keeps the sandlot" Kairi basically demanded.
"Deal" they all said.
"Let's go boys" The captain demanded. "Bye Natalia" he winked.
I waved bye and turned around to see the boys staring at me.
"What" I exclaimed acting confused.
"What do you mean what. Acting all nice to Geo. They are our enemies!" Mattia yelled.
I was taken back and replied "they are your enemies not mine but I'll be mean if you want."
Mattia walked off and the rest of the boys shrugged it off. We played a bit more until darkness drew closer. We then started to head home. We all walked side by side until we arrived in our neighborhood. I hugged each of the boys until i got to Mattia. I said goodbye while he just walked away.
I walked into my house, saying hello and goodnight to my parents. It was a normal thing now. I got ready for bed with tomorrow's game on my mind.
