Chapter Twenty Three - Dark

It was midnight and the moon was at its peak. Lucas opened his tried eyes at the sense of danger.

Their room door barged opened revealing Taeyong who had a extremely worried expression. That is when Lucas realised it was an invasion by their rival pack more like a ambush because no one was expecting this.

How dare those low life's step foot in his kingdom. His territory. It looks like they had a death wish and Lucas would not mind signing their death certificates either.

His had only one motive. To protect his lady and hus unborn child. Lucas detangled himself from Ri's pregnant sleeping form unknown to him waking her up in the process.

Those bastards will regret even stepping a foot on his land. Coming face to face with his rivals. He knew a crude battle will take place.

Lucas's pov

My pack all split up as team diversions. We had a strategy of course this is not our first up fighting hot headed wolves who think they can beat us.

I was in the centre of five enermy armed men. It was heated combat with blood and sweat rolling down from my face.

The moon hidden behind the clouds were visible giving my pack more strength to defeat these intruders. My inner wolf came to power.

Transforming I smashed heads together , ripped off body parts with my shape teeth. Made them bleed to death from my deep claw marks. As we thought this was over more wolves charged in attack.

My patience was growing thin very fast. Ri could be in danger or even worse targeted in this chaotic mess. Releasing a power wave that sliced them to pieces. The ground was bathed with dark red flesh blood.

The scent of blood was heavy in the air as those dead bodies were lying there lifeless. The smell may upset my pup because inside it's mother the baby's nose must be sensitive.

When victory was ours. We howled to the moon in success. I had to admit that it pained me because we lost three brave guards tonight. Thankfully my pack members was alright and alive. I also felt ashamed by fact that I was hurt.

I pushed our bedroom door opened only to meet Ri's gaze filled with horror. There was a glint of fear in those mesmerising brown orbs of hers.

Staring at my wolf form she swallowed in fear. She looked at the blood on my canine fangs. She saw the blood on my fur. She was scared I could see it.

"Can you change back so I can treat your wounds?" Asked Ri in a trembling voice while her hands shake as she touches my fur.

I transformed back only to met her teary eyes.

"Your wounds are so bad!" Said Ri as she got up getting the medical supplies.

"It can heat on its own." I said as I noticed her tears shining in the moonlight.

I am glad no harm came to her.

"I know but it will heal faster if you let me treat it!" She says not backing of.

Her small feminine hands touch my face wiping the blood away with hot clean water. Her long brown locks moved to the rhythm of the breeze. Her hair was aside exposing her mate mark.

Her touch on my skin spread warmth across my body. It takes alot of kindness to treat me the way she is doing inspite of whatever I did to her. She truly has a heart of gold.

With one hand treating the cut on my cheek while the other was protectfully holding her stomach. I can not believe she is already six months along in her pregnancy. Only a few more months till in can see our little one.

She noticed I was staring at her stomach. Ri moved my large hand and placed it where my pup was kicking. I caressed her her stomach as a smile danced on my lips from feeling our child and also seeing a beautiful smile adorning her face.

"Why are you awake at this part of time!" I asked as I felt a sting as she treat the wound in my chest.

"Well I felt uneasy. And the baby was kicking non stop. I could also hear noises and screams. It was dark and I was afraid." Said Ri while her eyes get teary again.

"You do not have to be afraid. I am here now!" I said pulling her in a tight hug feeling the warm he body radiates.

Ri's pov

I can not lie. When he came back from battle in the early hours of the morning. I was afraid but I felt safe in those strong muscular arms of his.

I decided to make foreign food since I had a craving and no one knew how to make it. I sighed rising from the bed with my long hair flowing behind me.

I walked to the kitchen slowly while holding my huge stomach. I tried my luscious long brown locks into a pony tail. I began to chop freshly picked onions for the dish.

Suddenly manly hands caressed my stomach. I knew it was Lucas because no one else would dare to touch me like this. He rested his head on my shoulder inhailing my scent.

"Does it not burn your eyes , beautiful?" Asked Lucas flirtatiously.

"Of course not, I am chewing gum." I replied with a soft giggle.

I got distracted by feeling his lips on my skin. He licked my neck causing me to cut my finger. My blood dripped on the floor making him angry. Lucas took my bleeding finger into his mouth.

"You taste so sweet!" He said seductively in my ear. I moaned in pain as our baby kicked the wrong time.

"When you get hurt I feel your pain!" Said Lucas kissing my finger better. I can not lie for i felt the same.

Seeing him hurt and in pain.It felt like I was the one who was injured.
