Jackson lunged toward his father, the pure rage that was coursing through his veins was nothing like he'd ever felt before. His claws were piercing the skin of his palms as his hands were in fists, ready to take him down and defend his mate. How dare he call his precious Lily a whore?! Like she had ever been given a choice! He fist flew at his father's face as he knocked him down from where he stood. He tried block the blow, but he was getting slower as he aged.
Lily watched as her mate went to hit Weston again, but this time he was successful in avoiding the move. Weston forcefully kicked Jackson off of him and got up from the ground but Jackson landed on his feet. "Stand down son. You don't want to do this."
Jackson just growled again in response, it was too late for him to stop now. He was a split second from shifting and ripping his throat out, his wolf side not caring that this man was family. He was barely holding on to his control. He kicked his father causing him to fall again. He angrily clawed at his father's chest wanting nothing more than to rip him to pieces.
Nora's horrified scream distracted Lily from the fight taking place in front of her. She watched as she crumpled to the ground clutching her chest as if she was in pain. She wondered what that was about but was soon caught off guard by a burning sensation on her cheek. She placed her hand over it, but the sensation didn't stop; in fact, it got worse. It was as if she was repeatedly getting hit on her cheek.
Lily looked back towards the father and son to see Weston repeatedly punching his son in the face. His fist connected with the same area on Jackson's face as where hers was burning. No. No way. Was she feeling this way because Jackson was physically hurt? How was that possible?! She glanced back towards Nora's form on the ground before continuing to observe the fight in front of her; she concluded that Nora had been hurting because Weston was in pain.
Jackson grabbed his father's dominant arm, holding it above his head, as he was getting ready to hit him again, then began delivering repeated punches to his face. Before he could do anymore damage, his father had maneuvered himself so that he was on top of Jackson. There was a crack and it was as if his arm was on fire.
Jackson ignored his pain as he flipped himself back around, grabbed a fistful of his father's hair and slammed his head into the ground. Doing so, caused his arm to protest in more pain, but he ignored it.
The sound of his mate's whimpers caught him off guard. He looked over to her, to see her grasping her arm in pain. He was about to move towards her when he was flung across the room.
Lily watched in horror as she clutched her arm as Jackson's body crashed so forcefully into the wall that there was a hole left in it. Her mate didn't get up and she could feel the pounding in the back of her head from what must have been a much less intense pain than what Jackson was feeling in that moment.
She whimpered as she made her way over to Jackson, checking over his injuries. His face was all swollen, his arm definitely broken, most likely as well as a couple of ribs, and there was a gash on the back of his head that was bleeding.
Lily held back the tears from seeing Jackson like this. It was the last thing she had ever wanted to happen. She didn't want anyone being hurt because of her, but especially not Jackson. "Jacks?" She whispered softly, and he smiled at her. "You're okay. You're, okay. I promise."
She knew Jackson could hold his own and that he was fine, but seeing him like this terrified her; no matter how much worse he may have been through before with rogues. It was difficult to witness and experience.
Movement from the other side of the room caused a shift in Lily's attention. Weston was making his way toward the two of them. Lily stood up, protectively, in front of her mate. "Stop this." She told him, making sure her voice came out strong and steady. Weston didn't stop his advances. Jackson may have looked bad and had the wind knocked out of him, but his father looked worse. He was bleeding from the claw marks on his chest and face, which was also completely swollen from all the hits he took from Jackson.
Weston growled at the pathetic attempt the girl had made to sound strong. She wasn't strong; stupid, yes, but not strong. She was nothing but a weak human standing between two supernatural beings that could destroy her with a flick of their wrists. "Somehow, you always seem to be in the way; getting involved in a fight between wolves." He shook his head, then continued, "you think you can stand up to an Alpha, but couldn't even do it to save your own child."
Hurt and anger coursed through Lily's body at the mention of Maisie. Before she could comment on how big of a piece of shit Weston was, Nora spoke up. "Weston, that's enough." Lily was shocked to say the least, she had never heard her argue with Weston and definitely not when it came to her. Lily always just assumed Nora hadn't liked her either.
Weston still glared at her, but the tension in his body slowly disappeared as Nora moved closer to him. "I will not let you continue to rip this family apart any longer. Stand down, now!"
Lily observed as Weston stood there for another minute. He glared and growled at her once again before turning back to glare at his Beta, storming out of the room, and slamming the door.

Yikes!
I don't think I ever gave Jackson's parents names before the previous chapter and I'm too lazy to go back to check or fix it now. Sorry, but now you know lol 😅
