Nora and the Beta, James, followed after Weston and as soon as the door closed, Lily turned around and kneeled down to check on Jackson. He smiled at her, "I'm okay. Healing already, see?" His arm that was broken looked as though there was nothing wrong in the first place. The back of his head had stopped bleeding. Lily's arm and chest had stopped burning and the stinging at the back of her head was no longer there.

Jackson saw the confusion on his mate's face, so he began to explain. "All werewolves have fast healing; the higher the rank, the faster they heal." He watched her nod in understanding, but her eyebrows furrowed and her lips puckered a bit like they usually did when she was trying to figure out how to phrase what she wanted to say or ask next. Jackson mentally groaned, this girl is gonna be the death of me. She opened and closed her mouth several times, making Jackson want to smash his lips onto her velvety soft ones. Just to get a taste of her again. But he refrained from doing so, "what is it?"

Lily was stumped, she didn't understand how she could feel Jackson's pain. "Mates can... feel each others pain?"

Jackson was surprised that she had made that connection on her own, and he slowly nodded, "as mates spend more time together, the bond grows stronger. It's part of the mating process." The second the words came out of his mouth, he regretted saying them. He hadn't ever mentioned the mating process before and his mate was curious. She would want to learn more about it. He didn't want her thinking that mates were just something that was there for reproductive purposes.

"What's the mating process?" Lily asked, like Jackson knew she would. He thought for a minute on how to explain it to her and realized that anyway he would say it, she would react negatively to it.

"I think we should talk with Adrienne about it. She'll be able to explain it better than I can for the most part."

Lily shrugged, accepting his answer, then helped pull Jackson up from the floor. Though she assumed she wasn't really helping much at all. He pulled her to his chest and wrapped his arms around her waist. She didn't question it and reached up to clasp her fingers around his neck.

Too soon he pulled away, saying they should go before his parents came back. Jackson wrapped an arm around Lily's waist and pulled her to his side and began making his way towards Adrienne's apartment within the pack house. As they made their way, Weston walked by them, glaring at Lily.

Jackson pulled her even closer to him as if it was possible, staring at him - practically begging for him to do something. But Lily glared right back, not breaking eye contact until he had passed. She couldn't help thinking that if looks could kill, well, the both of them would be six feet under by now.

The pair continued their way to Adrienne, and when they got there she welcomed them with a smile on her face. "Hey, what's up guys? Is everything okay? You were gone for a while!"

Immediately, Lily started to feel bad for making her watch Charlie for so long. She was sure Adrienne had better things to do that take care of her. "Sorry, things got a bit complicated." Lily said vaguely, not that she wanted to keep anything from her. Hell, she had probably heard all the commotion. But Lily knew how the situation with Weston was affecting Adrienne and she didn't want to make it worse.

It seemed as though Jackson had it covered. The two of them had that far away look in their eyes, telling her that they were mindlinking. He was most likely informing his sister what had gone down throughout the day.

Adrienne was happy that Jackson and Lily were getting closer, but her father needed to stay out of the way. Especially since he thought that Nikolas taking over seemed to be best for the pack. The fact that he had made this all about Lily, like she hadn't gone through similar, and turned it into her being weak instead of what Nikolas had done to the two of them, and who knows how many more people, was terrible. It made her feel like she didn't matter; what she went through, along with Lily, was nothing to him. It certainly was not best for everyone to have Nikolas take over again. Adrienne didn't know what she would do if she ever saw him again. Probably kill him for all that he put her and Lily through.
