Chapter 38

Caricia Faye's

I texted ate to update me on whatever's happening pero hanggang ngayon ay wala pa rin akong natatanggap na balita. Amarah's staying in my room for the night.

She confessed that she knows about the condition of Vintage noon pa man but she hesitated on telling me dahil 'yon daw ang utos ni Vintage. Everyone knows about his condition pero nirespeto nila ang desisyon niyang h'wag itong sabihin sa akin.

"He's being pilit by my Tito and Tita to have a treatment but he declined. He lost hope na daw. Ba't niya pa daw pahihirapan yung sarili niya sa treatment, waste of money lang daw. He wanted to spend his life here in the Philippines kaya ayon, he escaped. Ewan ko Ate, why was it so easy for him to give up on his life?" Amarah said in between sobs.

Hindi ko rin alam. It was also too easy for him na sabihin sa'kin to fight for my life pero gano'n lang kadali sa kanya tanggapin na may taning ang buhay niya.

"When Mommy heard the news that he's dropping out, we went to La Roman. We wanted to inform you pero nang makarating kami do'n, we didn't know the situation was that serious and he asked us not to tell you. He's condition, lumalala na pala," she continued.

I told her to take a rest na. There's really no point in telling what's been done. Mabuti na lang at nakatulog na rin si Amarah after that. She needs to take a rest dahil may pasok pa siya buka... kung gusto niyang pumasok.

I was having a headache dahil alas kwatro ng umaga na ako nakatulog. When I looked at the left side of my bed, I saw Amarah still sleeping. Pilit ko siyang ginising but all she did was moan.

"Ano ba, hindi ka ba papasok?" I asked her and she said she won't.

"I won't go to class with puffy eyes. I'll just wait for kuya Vintage here," she said before she got up para siguro lumipat sa kwarto niya.

"He won't be happy once he knows you're not attending school!" sigaw ko sa kanya.

"Stop joking! Ayaw nga niyang pumapasok!" she managed to answer before closing her door shut.

Hindi pa rin ako mapakali, I decided to go to the hospital that day. I checked my phone before taking a bath. I saw Ate's text message saying that Vintage is already in a good condition. Nakahinga naman ako nang maluwag. I asked Amarah if she wants to come with me but she expressed her hatred towards the hospital. I called Ate Ash on the way there.

Magdamag pa siyang nagbantay kay Vintage dahil umalis sina Mommy and Daddy. May problema ata sa firm.

"Conscious na siya, Ate?" I asked.

She needs to go home para maligo. May class pa rin kasi siya mamaya. I decided not to attend mine.
