There were two weeks left before the competition, and the group was now in a frenzy.
For the third time in an hour, Mark accidentally tripped with Yuta and the two dove headfirst to the ground.
"Damn, how many times are you guys going to fall?" Jaehyun yelled, pausing the music on his laptop. "I think that's enough practice for tonight."
"No, we have to keep going." Yuta lifted himself off the ground, wincing as he pressed the sore spots on his arm. "We don't have much time."
"Dude, we've been here for like three hours," Jaehyun said. He pointed towards the other side of the room where Haechan was. "He's been asleep for like an hour now. I finished my lit essay. And you guys are going to develop bruises at this rate, do you want to wear a shit ton of concealer for the show?"
"We're almost there," Mark pleaded. "Just one more-"
Jaehyun slammed his laptop shut. "It's Thursday. We got class tomorrow. And I want to go to bed."
"Then go, I'm going to stay here a little longer." Yuta said, disconnecting the aux cord from Jaehyun's laptop and connecting it to his phone. "You guys go."
"The practice rooms are closing in ten minutes, though," Taeyong reminded him. "Let's just come here earlier tomorrow-"
"Oh, god, not you too!" Jaehyun slammed his head on his backpack, groaning. "Can't you guys just be normal?"
"Shut up, if you were dancing with us, you wouldn't want to take a break, either," Mark said, grabbing his stuff off the floor. "Let's just practice back at the apartment-"
"NO! I! Want! Sleep!!!" Jaehyun yelled. "Go practice somewhere else!"
---"Si Cheng, what do you plan on doing tomorrow?" Ten asked his roommate, who was sitting on his bed with a laptop, doing physics work again. "It's Friday."
Si Cheng continued typing on his laptop. "Class, finish this lab report, practice for traditional dance, go to Yuta's practice for his dance, that's about it."
"Ah come on, you're not doing something fun?" Ten said, rolling around on his bed. He was already settled for the night, wrapped in his blankets. "We should do something."
Sighing, Si Cheng closed his laptop, knowing he wasn't going to get any more done for the night. He lifted his leg in the air and pointed at a few spots. "Do you see the skating bruises that are still there?"
"Hey, you wanted to skate, not me," Ten defended himself, raising his hands up. "You got yourself those bruises."
"It's not my fault I'm too tall to skate," Si Cheng said.
Ten raised an eye. "You take that back."
"Jeez, Ten, that's not what I meant." Si Cheng placed his laptop on the nightstand, turning off the light from his mini lamp on the headboard, filling the room with darkness. "My height plus my lack of balance creates an ugly combination."
"I'm sorry, are you not the school's best traditional dancer?" Ten asked. "Don't you need balance for that?"
\
"Correction: lack of balance on those hellish skates." Si Cheng pulled the covers over his head. "Go to sleep, Ten."
"'Kay, goodnight, Winwin."
There was no more chatter between the two, so Si Cheng closed his eyes, ready to wake up at 7 tomorrow for class.
Until a knock on the door disturbed their peace.
