I surrender myself to you,
just like the crowds on their knees.
They're also hoping for a spark, a gleam of light; hope to guide the masses.
Take what I've given you, please.
I open up my heart, my body, my soul - all for you.
I don't care if this is the last time I get to hold you; feel your careful and soft feathery touch on my sun kissed skin.
Please, take care of me for one more night, and let me breathe you in one last time.
Your comfort, warmth, love - that's all I'll ever come to know.
For me to experience something like this, you must be aware that I have become what I am today because you've let me. I'm able to observe the world greater because of what you've done to me.
We'll both remember this time; these delicate moments under the sheets where we share anything, everything, and what lays in-between.
Finally,
the last sigh lifts up into the warm air of the room around us.
The last brush of your lips on mine.
The last "I love you" being spoken.
And with that, we say:
"goodnight".
