"How did you know?" she asked as she exited the bathroom, now all cleaned up and feeling better, looking at Kakashi who sat at the edge of the bed, waiting for her.

"Mostly because of the explosions" he answered, looking deep at her eyes "but also because I was looking for you" he added, his brows still knitted like they had been all the time. Even though they had already got home a couple of hours ago.

"What did Gai want this morning?" she asked after a small silence, trying to change the topic.

"Remember Tsunade rushed us to finish all this, and wanted us to have help? Well, Gai's our help. It's him, or she'll handle it" he answered.

He had wanted to tell her differently. He wanted to think his words better so she wouldn't have many complaints. But he was still too worried and anxious about almost losing her to think about that, so he just said it like that.

"H-he knows about the stalker?" she asked.

"I didn't go into detail" he answered, his eyes still deeply locked on hers "Do you know who those people were?" At his question, she shook her head in denial, thinking about who they could have been "They must be from the same group than the stalker"

"But he wasn't there"

"It's unlikely that two different groups of people want you, a ninja of Konoha, and we haven't heard a thing about it" he answered.

"But why do they want me?" she pondered after a while of thinking, more to herself than anyone else.

Kakashi's brow knitted more as he felt his throat sore and closing, still looking deeply at her.

"I wish I knew" he mumbled as lowly as hers, almost to himself as well.

(Y/n) watched Kakashi's lost stare on the floor, gripping his own hands, and knuckles turning white because of the tangled thread of thoughts he wasn't able to decipher.

"What's wrong?" She asked, leaning onto the frame of the door from the bathroom.

He stayed like that, quiet for a moment and taking in her voice later than when she had actually talked due to him being too immersed in himself and his complicated feelings.

"It's nothing" he said. He wanted to look at her, but then, same moment he started perking up his head he realized that he couldn't do it, not yet. Not until he understood why he felt so wrong. Instead of looking at her, his eyes just moved somewhere else to get lost again "Just go to bed, you need to rest" he dismissed her.

She looked at him for another couple of moments, maybe expecting him to talk some more. But he didn't, he had gone back to his mind. She stopped leaning on the frame and walked to Kakashi, sitting next to him on the edge of the bed as well.

"It is something if it's bugging you" she said the words Kakashi had once said to her, leaning her face on his shoulder while she placed her arm on his abdomen in a hug kind of way.

Kakashi flinched a bit, not because he didn't want her to be close to him, obviously. But because he really just didn't know what to say. But she was patient, she would be. (Y/n) didn't care how much time he needed, she'd wait that and more. And while he tried to find the words she placed a kiss on his shoulder from time to time while her hand in his body caressed him.
