(f/bf) > favorite breakfast food, it must be to take out like a sandwich, a donut, or something of that type

Kakashi's POV:

"You sure you want to wait for me?" she asked me with a questioning look, clearly not understanding why did I want to wait for her and leave together if we weren't heading to the same place.

"Yup"

I nodded and kept reading while she kept changing in our room. Shortly after she came out already dressed and ready. We both grabbed our stuff and left.

"Do you want anything for breakfast?" I asked, looking at her by my side as we walked.

"It's fine... we'll be even later if we stop"

"But you wanted breakfast. What do you want?" I asked again, swallowing a bit and feeling a bit nervous already.

She looked at me, debating between being stubborn or giving in.

"I guess some (f/bf) to take would be fine" she finally said with a smile that she tried to hide, probably happy that she would get her food. It was so cute that I found myself smiling under my mask.

'It's now or never' I said to myself, moving my gaze from her cheerful expression to her hand, my own hand feeling sweaty on my pocket as I thought about it ­'Damn it, Kakashi. It's just holding her hand in public, you've literally just fucked with her, multiple times...' I said to myself, blushing more at the thought.

"Here's fine" she said, stopping and pointing to a place before walking there.

I facepalmed internally and followed her, discarding the chance of doing it now.

"How much is it?" she asked the vendor, starting to look through her wallet for the money while she was told the price.

"Let me pay for it" I said, handing the cashier the money faster than her.

(Y/n) looked at me, once more with a surprised expression. Probably asking herself why was I acting this weird, but I just ignored her questioning look and handed her the (f/bf).

She took it and we both stepped out and kept walking.

"Where are you meeting with Gai?" she asked me while taking a bite of her food.

"It's on the way to the training grounds" I said without looking at her, still trying to get the courage to hold her publicly. She nodded, deciding to accompany me, and we kept walking silently. Shortly after, she finished her food and threw away the napkin she had used to clean herself.

'Okay, now's the time' I said to myself, eyeing how she came back to my side from throwing the rubbish away. I eyed quickly to her hand and once she was next to me, walking by my side, I slowly slid my hand to hers, holding it close while entwining our fingers.

She looked at me surprised and with a blush, being obviously nervous and taken aback, but I didn't look at her back, just closed my hand around her tighter. Trying to ignore the looks that were starting to be put on us. 'I guess there's no going back now' I thought to myself, actually giving in how good it felt to be able to do this. Even more as her blush deepened instead of disappearing, which made me smile and forget about the rest of the people.

"Kakashi, my friend! You're not that late!" Gai yelled at us from afar, surprised that it had taken me an hour to appear instead of two or three like it normally did.

(Y/n) fidgeted a bit nervously, still not sure about holding hands together in front of Gai. But I knew that the main reason why she was nervous was because I was the one who told her I didn't want to do these things. I knew that in reality she wanted to go public, she herself told me that same day when we talked about it. So what I did was hold her hand reassuringly as I pulled her closer to me, her cheeks flushing more as she looked away.
