Chapter 33

Before anybody asks, no, the story does not follow the original plot exactly. Mainly because I have a terrible memory, but also because when I imagined the story it just wasn't on par with the original plot. But I honestly don't think it's such a big deal because the story revolves around (Y/n) and Kakashi and nothing else. So I hope it's not a big problem u.u

"Ugh! they said he'd be awake" I heard Naruto's voice complaining from the corridor.

"What did you expect anyway, you idiot?" Sakura answered to him "He was severely injured. So even if he was awake he still needs to rest before we're sent out on missions"

There was a bit of silence while I got closer to the room.

"So... if he's asleep...hehe" Naruto began laughing to himself "C'mon Sakura-chan!" he tried to whisper unsuccessfully "We can finally see Kakashi-sensei's face" he said with a bit of malice.

I peered my head over the frame of the door and saw Naruto waving a hand in front of Kakashi's face —which was covered with the sheet from the hospital— in order to make sure he was asleep. I arched a brow at the sight.

"What are you doing?" I suddenly asked, entering the room. Both of them jumped at the sound of my voice, almost screaming at the top of their lungs. But luckily they had both covered their mouths with their hands.

"I heard that Kakashi-sensei had finally waken up" Naruto said, obviously ignoring the fact that they were about to take the sheets out of Kakashi's face.

"C'mon Naruto" Sakura said "let's leave (Y/n)-san and Kakashi-sensei alone" she said, dragging him out by the arm.

"B-but he's asleep!" he said a bit louder, trying to resist to her which only earned him some punches.

I looked at them leaving and sighed once they closed the door.

"You can't stop pretending now" I said, slowly turning around to the 'sleeping' man who let go of a low sheepish chuckle when I talked.

He opened his left eye and looked at me.

"You noticed, uh?" he said, sitting up and letting me see his face.

"Of course I did, I'm not a freaking genin" I rolled my eyes as I walkeed to the bedside table "I brought you some clothes, and your mask" I said, leaving them on top of the nightstand "And your books"

He smiled widely at my last words and extended his arm, reaching to my belly and pulling me slightly towards him.

"Thanks" he said, making me sit next to him. I looked at both of his eyes, one scarred and the other one half covered by his white hair. His mole on his chin, and his eyes fixed on mines. I couldn't help but frown a little.

"I'm sorry" I said looking down "You got hurt because I got caught in that genjutsu. If only I had released it earlier..."

"It's not your fault" he said normally as he reached his hand to my cheek "I got distracted" he added with his closed-eye smile, making my heart stop for a moment "I'm happy that you weren't hurt. I got worried for a moment when I saw you paralyzed" he said, opening his eyes again and taking some of my hair behind my ear.

I couldn't help it and leaned down slightly, wanting to hug him 

"You were worried? You were the one bleeding out" I said, burying my head on his neck, inhaling his alluring and calming scent.

His hand caressed my back and head, hugging me as tenderly as I was doing with him. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes. Silence surrounding us.
